..... and Newcastle are already getting nervous. "Newcastle MP Chi Onwurah raised concerns about the timing of the game which comes hours after notorious Black Eye Friday." http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/tyne-wear-derby-safety-concerns-raised-7719505 Dunno which is worse, Newcastle's MP happily chirping on about 'black eye Friday' or the photo of Michael Owen posting ****e on the internet. Doesn't he think that blithely using the term 'Black Eye Friday' might 'give permission' to the idiots. The MP also clumsily uses the death of the two Newcastle lads to appeal for calm which is crass imo. The council & police claim they are at the mercy of Sky in relation to the kick off time which is pitiful. I believe that already whipping things up, months in advance, is counter productive and typical of the attitude that prevails in Newcastle. With the local MP, Northumbria Police & the council already flapping their gums it seems they're little better than the idiots.
Serious question here. Us and the mags released a joint statement that they would no longer bow to the demands from Northumbria Police. So if the game was moved to a 4pm Sunday KO for example could they refuse to police the match??
Chi who? Is he a Pakistani feller? Last time I was in Pisscastle couldn't find a white taxi driver anywhere. I'd have had more luck finding one in Karachi.
I get where this MP is coming from, potentially 1000s of innocent shoppers caught in the cross wind of angry petulant mags who want to trash their own town. what happened in 2013 combined with one of the busiest shopping days on the calender means a Sunderland win has disaster written all over it. If the police did their job ethically then they wouldn't be in this situation, they'd have a bit of leeway with the the clubs to do something about this. I have to say all these problems emanate from the city of Newcastle, no one to blame on Wearside. All we've ever done is humiliate them twice in a row in their own back yard. Sore losers.
watch out for a suspect decsion to go their way when northumbria cheif of police gives the reg a giant wad of cash to make his job abit easier
