Maybe for the best we do get beat - and badly, then a few successive defeats to put us all out of our misery with the expectation that England will qualify, then Roy's reign will redoubtably end, then a unbiased manager with some savvy can take the job (in my dreams) who pick the best and worthy players not the best 'usual names'

UEFA Love England when it comes to linig their pockets (same as FIFA) as we contribute as a nation probably more money than any other footballing nation does to their coffers - but they hate us in every other way. They want to make sure it's nice and easy for teams like us, who are pretty crap but take loads of fans everywhere, can qualify! Just an opinion though as a Euro campaign without English money would be massive to UEFA!

BTW - I made all that up but I do honestly believe there is some truth in it.

it is true really every tournament we are not in will probs make a lot less than if we were in, just from the price of alcohol sales in its self, fifa love us for our money and nothing else, the host nations will seriously be hoping we qualify! especially for france because being so close and easy to get to, their economey will get a serious boost!!

Dunno how that'll work in Qatar mind.

I've heard that Blatter is recommending them for the Winter Olympics <ok>

I bought tickets through the Swiss ticket office, so I will be sitting with the Swiss fans tonight !

I live less than an hour away from Basel stadium.

Hopefully the Swiss will bring some excitement to the game

How do you make a Swiss roll ? Push him down a hill

How do you make a Maltese cross ? kick him in the shins

How do you make a Venetian blind ? Poke him in the eyes

Is it wrong that I hope we get absolutely humped to the point where Hodgson gets sacked?

Every pundit team prediction ive seen its obvious that they are accommodating Rooney. He'd be nowhere near the starting 11 for me, even without Sturridge. Never mind captain :-/

Cahill and Chambers will be our centre back pairing for years to come imo so they need to start together asap.

    -----------------Hart---------------------
    Stones----Chambers---Cahill-------Baines
    -----------Wilshere---Henderson---------
    Chamberlain-----Sterling----------Welbeck
    -----------------Lambert-------------------

    Sturridge
    Walcott
    Barkley
    Walker

Would all be in there if fit
