Yep, even worse on the other Saints forum. He has never really settled into the Prem style of play what with injuries and only being back up. Pochettino didn't like him so he hardly played under him. Will be good to see how he plays for you, he has the skill but just needs to get up to the speed of the Prem. Hopefully with more game time with you guys he will adapt at last.
McGregor Rosenior Chester Davies Robertson Elmo Diame Huddlestone Brady Ramirez Hernandez The best thing about this is that even if our new signings completely flop, we still have a team decent enough to stay up. If Ramirez or Hernandez don't hit the ground running, the dependable Ince and Jelavic can come in, or we can experiment further and chuck Ben Arfa into that team.
I think it will be: McGregor Chester,Dawson,Davies Elmo Livermore, Huddlestone, Diame Robertson Hernandez Jelavic subs : Harper,Ramirez, Ben Arfa,Ince, McShane I think Ben arfa will need to get back into match fitness, so will be used as a sub in the meantime, mainly for Livermore or diame, I would of thought! Ramirez the same but will sub Hernandez or Jelavic depeneding on how the game is going!
I would have said the chances of Ben Arfa starting are very low and usually the case with new attacking signings and as fit as he may be his match fitness if probably lacking. I would have said he would start the game after. However. That game after is against Newcastle and he won't be able to play so this could then lead to Ben Arfa starting the West Ham game and Ramierez Starting the Newcastle game.
I think all the new additions except Ramirez will start against West Ham. So I expect Bruce to go with McGregor Chester Dawson Davies Elmo Huddlestone Diame Robertson Ben Arfa Hernandez Jelavic Subs Harper Rosenior McShane Ince Livermore Ramirez Brady
If we buy em..play em McGregor Chester Davies Robertson Elmo Thud Jake Brady Ben Arfa Diame Hernandez Bench: Harper, Dawson, Rosenior, Ince, Jelly, Ram, Quinn
I highly doubt Ben Arfa and Ramirez will start, I think they will both ease there way into the team, depending on performances from certain players, however it all depends on what bruce sees in training! I notice alot of people dont have incey in their team, he hasn't impressed any of you?
Both HBA and Ramirez were unlikely to get a look in at their clubs both lack match fitness but at least here they know they are wanted and are seen as part of the first team squad. I agree therefore it's likely both will be eased in HBA probably on the subs bench for West Ham. Hernandez , Dawson and Diame I would imagine are pretty much nailed on to start. There's no doubt that all three are an upgrade on what we had before in those positions Diame in particular could be pivotal to enable Huddlestone and livemore to up their game.its a long time since we had a real box to box player of his type who can also mix it . Given it's not long ago that arsenal expressed and interest in him that midfield of ours is looking pretty strong .
After seeing the fans vote on HDM wouldn't mind seeing the formation as a 3-4-1-2 McGregor Chester Dawson Davies Elmo Diame Hudds Robertson HBA Jelavic Hernandez
That could well be the line-up for West Ham. Either that or a slightly more pragmatic start with Livermore as a third CM, with either HBA or Hernandez waiting for their chance from the bench.
Why ? and certainly not whilst we have the 2 domestic cups to go after. Factor in injuries and suspensions and it would be crazy to let anyone go. Yes we do. Robertson is exempt from the 25 due to his age. Maguire also maybe the same. ? Only Figs will go imo and only once Joe Dudgeon has proved his fitness @ Barnsley. Which is just what all managers want not least SB. Nobody should feel safe and now they all know that anymore lazy and lax performances and it is the shepherds crook. With Robertson now injured and out of the West Ham game that is one issue that deals with itself. Plus HBA cannot play the following week @ Newcastle sadly for all so that is another problem SB wont have to deal with. So for the West Ham i would like to see this starting line up especially as West Ham lack pace at the back. McGregor Chester Dawson Davies(c) Elmohamady Huddlestone Livermore Quinn Ben Arfa (in a free role) Hernandez Jelavic subs:- Harper - Rosenoir - McShane - Meyler - Brady - Diame - Ince
