Well kick off times will not change! the clubs loss. Well if the tickets and season tickets are those prices it should inspire more to go along. But we are in Plymouth and people are not that forthcoming to watch Argyle.
£200 a season.......thats £8,70 a match, Conference Div one cost more than that around here. It is difficult to know what to set the price at..........first to draw people through the turnstiles..........and second to make enough profit to run the club. How do you entice people to come..........best way possibly is to spread the payments out over a period......to make it more affordable. The problem is coming out of administration.....and without a sugar daddy throwing money at the club.......cash now is top priority. To set the price just right......... so as to get good sales and.........be profitable to function as a club means you need the gift of........incredible hindsight........Peter Ridsdale has an impossible job to do there...........throw in all the other things that need doing at present such as.........sponsorship. kit and of course getting a team together with Reids help of course............a lot has to come together in a short time.
Absolutely right, it's a huge task - almost the equivalent of starting a new Football League club from scratch in a 6 week period. I do hope low ticket prices pay off. If it turns out as predicted: No involvement of past directors in the football club A manager who wasn't involved in reducing the squad to an uncompetitive level A almost entirely new squad with the most unpopular players gone then there's no more excuse, it's up to the fans how much they want a club to represent the city and and the surrounding areas of Devon & Cornwall.
I think nearer to £300 is a more likely season ticket deal, with concessions for under18s and over65s. The club will have more chance of surviving this season with so many Championship wage earners gone and possibly a few sales to come. We will have to lump it until 4th July.
I agree nearer £300. On day prices around £16 which would give season ticket holders around £3 a ticket discount. I don't think that is unreasonable.
I hear TJ Hughes is in trouble financially and all it would take now is for Primart to close. See what happens when women take up watching football and stop going to the shops. The season tickets need to be easy for both parties this season. £200 seems very low to run the club on. There is a need to try to retain people and maybe encourage others to come but the club can't cut it's own throat. I guess we will know soon enough.
I hope it will spark the several thousand fair-weather arm-chair supporters who dumped us for the Premier league last season footy to consider heading back. Or indeed, attract new fans. Good gate income means that we can help pull down the deficit.
Replying to your post yesteday Joe regarding low price season tickets. My point which I think has been touched on by others in this thread since is that high (ish) prices are going to gave the opposite effect on raising income with the sorry state we're in at the moment. £300 plus and it's taking a bit of a gamble by fans on whether we'll see a full seasons football for that. A price of around £200 which must be paid in full before the season starts may encourage a few people (even current non-ST holders) to take a chance on this and bring in some much needed capital to start the season. Having said that my prediction is that the club will be asking £299. I also assume that the 5% refund for Foundation members will be available but doubt if the second year (10%) loyalty discount offered by the previous board still stands.
Yep i think around the £300 mark, its what a lot think. People have not got that money to pay up front, if that,s the case a lot will just go when they can. spread the costs and it will help people a bit. But a lower cost may just encourage more. But the sticking point maybe, will we see a seasons football? It will be a costly season ticket if it all goes pear shaped. I doubt the loyalty discount will apply as its a new board. Still must wait and see, it could be a pleasant surprise when all is announced. We surely need some good news and a gesture for the **** we been through. But i doubt they care all they want is the money.
