I know he was injured but did anyone see the game and did he do anything like seen on that clip on the "Drop Whitts?" thread v Czech Republic?

Didn't watch the game from the start but just tuned in to catch the last 15 minutes - it was only then I realised that Mats wasn't out there.

Must say I thought he might have been subbed to give him a breather, but had no idea he was injured nor what sort of a shift he put in.

Also must say that from what I little I did see, England were crap.

I only saw the first half. He was poor as were the players on both sides.

He'd started the 2nd half quite promisingly without doing anything overly spectacular. I think they'd moved him into a bit more of a central role.

England were very average until they moved Sterling into the centre. Sterling is absolutely outstanding for a 19 year old and imo has the potential to develop into the Messi, Ronaldo, Bale bracket of players in the next 3-4 years.

Watched from start of 2nd half. He made one good move down the right and shortly after could have scored if the centre forward had looked up and passed early. He went down in an innocuous challenge and looked like he damaged his kneecap or cruciate. Carried off in some pain.

Someone said England were crap. They weren't that good. Terrible game. Until Walbeck came on they were so slow getting the ball forward I thought it was us in disguise.

It was a crap game. Watched it on and off but really the germany argentina game was so much better. Matts looked good when on the ball but the problem was he rarely had it. Norway spent much of their first half chasing the ball, blocking attempts, constantly on the back foot. Certainly wasn't a game that suited a tiny technical player like him. Thought he started well in the second half created a few chances before the challenge by sterling had him down.
England are an awful team for such a bunch of expensive players. Its kind of unfathomable they can't get a better team together. Rooney was shocking.
