    Hodgeson is just a dinosaur.

Worse world cup performance ever, appoints Rooney as captain, and still unable to type Swansea into his SatNav.

    England are welcome to him.

Sounds like he's just paying lip service. The only reason he'd call up one of our players is if the whole football world was clamouring for it and he didn't want to look an idiot... oops, too late.

My thoughts on hodgson are best explained when West Brom were having a horrible game when the camera zeroed in on him banging the back of his head against a brick wall as he sat in misery...hilarious

Do you really want Swansea players playing for England? (Apart from the compliment to them, which some deserve).

Rooney: You new f**kers do it the way we do it, right? You get the f**kin ball up the f**kin pitch fast, and give it to me, I'll score f**kin goals. You don't go c**ting about with this stupid passing ****e, get up to me and I'll bang it in. You f**kin do what I say 'cause I'm the f**kin captain and you c**ts don't know how to play, right? The team is f**kin built around me being in their area, and you're not f**king playing any f**kin different. Got it?

Hodgson: We play a fast incisive game moving the ball quickly from defence to our strikers so they can score. We like to see long diagonal passes over heads of defenders to split the defence and get the ball into area quickly before they have time to organize. It a re-think of what we did in the 80s. The ideas were good then and they are good now.

Rooney: That's what I just f**kin said. Silly old c**t.

After 2 weeks of this insightful tactical training they would come back to Swansea and have to remember how to play football again in time for Chelsea. And recover from the kicking that they got in training as 'new boys'. Most national coaches are tactical dinosaurs and could no longer hold down a job as manager at a decent club. Look what Cote d'Ivoire did to Bony over the summer.

the problem with dyer is he cant cross the ball enough times during a game and that essential the way England play. Routs could easily fit into the English team but they have regular midfielders already. Dyers size is an issue these days against more powerful players that are in international sides so therefore i would not pick him either no would i have picked leon....

Then someone should have told Raheem Sterling you need to be big to play for England. :)

Be careful what you wish for. Saints fans were delighted when half our team were selected. Next thing you know they aren't Saints players anymore. Hope none of our team are selected again, until other England players are stopped from tapping them up for their club.

Dyer usually has a bit of a run every season where he is justifiably praised but if you look back at some older posts then some of the same fans wanted him gone as useless and was receiving more abuse than anyone. Consistency is the key that has been lacking in past seasons and i hope he keeps up the good work that he has shown so far this season.

Can't say I reember him ever being useless for us at all in any season - he's had brilliant seasons (our promotion season being just one of many) and some OK seasons but he's improving all the time now. Amazing to see those stats but as the Saints fan says it's better for us if he doesn't get a callup.

I agree that it would probably be better for us that he doesn't get called up - but that would be selfish on our part. It would be fantastic for Nathan to win an International cap for England <ok>

If England players start perceiving they won't get a call up because they play for us that itself could cause a big issue as they may not want to join us, plus we need our English talent to be playing for their country as that leads to much better sponsorship deals. That latter reason alone makes Alex Ferguson a f**king hypocrite, it is because of his players being England internationals they made so much money from commercial deals yet he still wanted 'compensation' if they got injured. Had it not been for the England shirt Man United would not have made hundreds of millions from Beckham and Rooney etc. doing posters, videos and whatever in a England shirt!

Being England internationals would be good for our clubs financial position.

    is Woy an fning moron

Hodgson said: "If the team works as hard as they did against Norway, show the appetite and desire, and the aggression in the defending, show the exciting moves that were there for all to see, the fans will come back."

Rooney aims to please fans again

Hodgson's side failed to register a shot on target until Wayne Rooney's 68th-minute penalty at a half-full Wembley, and needed keeper Joe Hart to make a fine save at 0-0.

They had 63% possession throughout the 90 minutes but the only save Orjan Nyland had to make was a powerful shot from new Arsenal signing Danny Welbeck late on.

But Hodgson said: "Two shots on target? Don't give me that one.

"Don't hit me with statistics. When we had that much possession, and you talk about two shots on target?

"What about all the shots they threw themselves in front of?

"We enjoyed some positive moments, some good movement and good play. All the things I wanted I thought I saw for large periods of the game."
