Have to say I cant summon up much enthusiasm for this game with no Saints in the starting 11. For what its worth the line-up is: Joe Hart, Stones, Phil Jones, Gary Cahill, Leighton Baines, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge, Wayne Rooney. Fraser Chambers and Rickie will pesumably all be on the bench. Hodgson needs a convincing win to get the fans back on side after a miserable World Cup.
England are boring but I know I'll end up watching. It'll probably be 0-0, or some other low scoring ****. Until we sort out the grassroots coaching in this country we're not going anywhere.
It's one of my best friends' 60th birthday today and if he thinks he's watching the football this evening he is sadly mistaken!
Only knew about this game due to seeing the headline on the bbc football page saying that John Stones would start. Had to do a double-take, firstly about the game taking place today and secondly to roll my eyes at that team selection. It maybe all he has available, but my god, doesn't tell a story. Hodgson may well fluke upon a "team" instead of the old collection of individuals, but think I'm past caring anyway. big old... MEH!
I might watch. If only to see Vegard Forren put chubby Rooney in his pocket [now that would be a laugh]. But there's very little interest there otherwise. I think it was halfway through the West Ham match that someone [radio/tv/whoever] reminded me that the international break was coming up, and I still remember inwardly groaning with boredom.
How about I help you out then: Hodgson is a twat of the highest order and does football more harm than good. He should be like me and spend his days watching cookery and antique programmes on the telly in his slippers.
i'm going for a curry tonight so cant watch the game. If I was in the hotel, then I would rather wash my hair than watch the game. the only interest is on the BBC website where they are running a quiz name the 5 Norwegians who have scored a hat-trick in the EPL. Not sure Egil should count for his hatrick vs Man U in the 6-3 win at the dell, as one was declared an own goal by the dubious goals panel.
Actually Woy is a thoroughly decent chap, perhaps a little out of his depth. He is, however, employed by ****s and is forced to select his squad from a stagnant pool of overrated, overpaid Nancy boys.
I know I said I wasn't going to post in this thread again, but I read that there's going to be an estimated 35-40k people in attendance. Lol I hope it's closer to 35k than 40k.
Will probably have it on in the background. As much as i don't want to , i will probably find myself watching it.
