I'm not saying he'd be the right person for the job, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Ashley might approach Nigel Pearson if a vacancy arose. I don't see him offering the position to Carver, Beardsley or Stone and neither do I think he should. All three of the them are part of the current coaching setup that has seen players fail to develop and fulfil their potential. Neither the first team squad nor the development squad have set the world on fire. Both squads have promised much more than they have delivered. Pearson is someone that Ashley has worked with before and someone who has proven to be a success at Leicester.

However, I seriously doubt Pearson would leave Leicester for here, nor do I think that a manager winning promotion proves any sort of credentials for succeeding in the Premier League. If Pardew is sacked it will ease tension in the stands because of the level of hatred aimed at Pardew. However, I'm not convinced a 'great' manager would come to us and neither am I convinced that any new mediocre manager would gain that much of an improvement on Pardew, who is also mediocre.

I hope we don't get a popular manager because that would severely affect the opening night of my new " Whingeing Bastards Club ".

I would prefer someone like Paul Cook of Chesterfield. What I do not want is the likes of Hoddle, Pulis, Moyes etc
    Failing that a Spanish/French coach!

Getting rid of pardew will achieve nothing. Hes doing as good a job as most would do and you can guarentee our next manager would be cheap and unproven. Unless were going to get a top top manager (which we wont!) Then were better off with pards. Better the devil you know in my eyes!

Pearson would be terrible also by the way! Hes spent more money at leicester than pards has at the toon

Neil Lennon is doing nowt at the moment, I think he would do well at a club like Newcastle.

I think you have to look at the lower leagues. The likes of Hoddle and Pulis would say no. They like control. Ashley would veer away from them also. You need to think of managers who are maluable. Its one of the reasons I don't understand why he doesn't go for a young manager. Someone who is used to working with meagre budgets. Eddie Howe at Bournemouth. Little in the way of money but plays an attractive style.

Pardew will probably take us down if he stays. We needed change last season when we were on our awful run.

Tony Pulis. I think he'd come. It's a fantastic opportunity with fantastic fans, if he can get over the financial restrictions.

How about Uwe Rosler. He seemed to get a lot of plaudits for what he did at Wigan last year. They only just missed promotion and got to the semi-finals of FA Cup again as well
