Just to while away the days until the January window opens, a little mental exercise. Which players have returned to play for Charlton (obviously excluding just away on loan). Don't expect much help from me. My memory is shot to hell these days.

    --- Mickey Bennett
    --- Paul Mortimer
    --- Mike Flanagan
    --- Mike F's sparring partner
--- Mike Kenning (a pale shadow second time round)
--- Myself (a fat f*cker third time around)
--- Saint Christopher (the only other one to return twice?)
If we count those who left without appearing in the first team:
    --- Danny Green
    --- Lawrie Wilson

    Must be loads more.

Anthony Barness did well for us during his second spell.

And Paul Mortimer - anyone remember his scorcher against Bradford?

Didn't Mr Hales? Before my time sadly but I thought he did

Jason Euell too, although his 2nd spell was just Powell giving a friend a last pay check.

Derek Hales did return, I bought a white sweat shirt with the words Killer on it from some debatable looking spiv in floyd road. Thinking about it, it may well have been Killers brother.

They say never go back and they are probably right. I wouldn't go back to any of my ex wives, ex jobs or ex pets.

Didn't Jonny H come back after he broke our hearts by moving to Croydon Sainsbury's?

Regardless its rarely the same second time round.

Eddie refers to Hales as Mick F's sparring partner.

Hales returned for a second spell in 1978 and subsequently weighed in with 76 goals over the next seven years.

Actually to be fair I've been married twice and I am still on the second one but I call her my ex to keep her on her toes and keep the fear up.

I have this mind set that never go back, even to the same holiday destination. When you know the punch line, what's the point of listening to the joke?
