Just wondering what Spurs fans think of our signing of Sandro our new signing on transfer deadline day. Many QPR fans don't know what to expect. Delighted Nico Krancjar is back looking fitter than ever and ready to unlock defences. With Jermaine Defoe to come in in the January window and Jermaine Jenas possibly returning mid season and all the Tottenham connections Hoddle, Harry, Caulker etc im already looking forward to February when Spurs visit LR and play a Spurs old boys 11. I just hope we wont be as bad as bad as our game at the Lane which I know we wont. A result at Man U next week on the back of a good performance against Sunderland and 3 pts will make me feel much better. Come on you Rs.

We're mostly hoping The Beast does what he promised to do and sort out Charlie Adam when you play Stoke in a few weeks.

It's nice to see that somebody's putting up some real competition with Hull to become our official B Team... <whistle>

Sandro's one of the best players in his position in the world when he's fully fit and given a run of games in the side.
He was prior to his ongoing injury problems around 18 months ago, anyway.

There have been some suggestions that he's got a little carried away with his media image as The Beast and taken his eye off the ball.
How true this is remains to be seen, but he was very, very good for us under Redknapp once he'd got used to the league.
If you can get him back to that level of performance, then you've got an absolute bargain.

Good luck for the rest of the season, barring the 4-0 repeat against us at Loftus Road. It's the least you can do, frankly.

Im sure we with all the Tottenham connections at QPR we wont ever be as bad as what happened last week. We looked a different side on Saturday against Sunderland and hope we spend Sparkless Hughes one of our worst ever managers back to the Potteries in 2 weeks with 0 points and the beast does to to Adam what he promised on your behalf. ( whatever that was provided he doesn't get sent off). Is this something QPR fans need to know about??

Don't forget Swansea (Siggy, Carroll, Galifuoco) .

Nah, they wouldn't sell us Bony for a reasonable price and they didn't take Naughton off our hands. They're our C Team, at best.

Sandro also shot his mouth off about Sherwood on social media and to Brazilian media in the latter half of last season. While this was well received by some due to the divisive nature of Sherwood's tenure, I think many of us Spurs fans hold the opinion that it was disappointingly unprofessional and petulant of a player to do so, especially when Sandro had such an excellent reputation with us fans. Come to think of it, if he wasn't featuring greatly in Pochettino's plans then that could well be a reason why he wanted him out - why risk a player well respected and liked by the fans undermining your position if he is not being played for footballing reasons?

Anyway if you can get him fit for any length of time, Sandro will be a huge player for QPR. I also find it unlikely that he will spend time on the sidelines for any reason other than injury under Redknapp, so I doubt you'll see a repeat of his petulant behaviour.

Hoping Krancjar, Sandro, Tarrabt and Defoe score (if he signs) return the 4-0 result in February (only dreaming) but above all else make sure you beat the scum (Chelsea) home and away and good luck against Arsenal.

Sandro is quality mate. If he's fit and stays fit you have the steal of the century. 2012 form, prior to injury, and he'd be a £20m+ midfielder.

I'd say most on here are devastated we sold him

Hear Kyle Walker is still injured another quality player for us a couple of seasons back and Tom Carroll has gone out to Swansea on loan. He had some good games for us but I don't hes ready for the prem yet. Whats happened to Benny? Was good for us last season but faded a bit at the end of the season and a bit error prone at the top level was my impression.

We couldn't get rid of Benny, try as we might! What was the fee for Sandro in the end? Heard £10 million and £6 million mooted and I can't figure it out. Thought it was £10 million and I hope I'm not wrong

I was really surprised at this transfer, I know Spurs wouldn't be eager to sell him to us, but I would've really wanted him at Arsenal...

'Arry doing his magic I guess.

Well hope Sandro does well for us. Shame we couldn't get Defoe. He wanted to come but his Canadian club wouldn't release him. We are a bit short of strikers but hoping our Tottenham boys will chip in with a few goals from midfield to support Charlie Austin (we are f-----d if he get injured as he scores most games he plays) , our 30 min a match man Zamora and our unknown mystery Chilean Striker Vergas (who had a good world cup apparently).

Great player. Excellent signing for you guys.

  15. Loved by many Spurs fans, but viewed by a few (me included) as overrated. We got rid of him cheaply for a reason, as unpalatable as that fact will undoubtedly be for the majority of fans.

Agree with all that. I'd say 20m may even be modest.

Put it this way - you've just bought our best midfielder (Eriksen aside, possibly). And we had a hell of a lot of midfielders. And you bought him for possibly 6m. So yeah - not thrilled about it.

The ONLY reason I can see for selling him is injury worries. And, for me, one of the most damning indictments of the past two managers was that they tried all these, often negative, things to make us stiff in the middle of the park when there only one thing you need for that - play ****ing Sandro!

When he first came to the club I would wince as he went in for challenges cos he always looked like he was gonna give away a free kick. But he rarely did. He has the knack of winning balls that you don't think he will win and whilst not even giving away free kicks. He really, truly is a beast.

As for the Charlie Adam thing - this comes from last season when Paulinho was playing one of his two good games for us. Full of flicks and invention. Well Adam had been on the bench watching this and probably grunting in his sub-human way. When he came on he went in with a nasty tackle on Paulinho within minutes leaving Paulinho injured for a good few weeks. This is as well as the fact that he had previously crocked Bale twice before then. The guy's a ****ing nasty piece of work and Sandro, not in the team that day, posted something on Twitter saying "The Beast is watching you, Charlie Adam" or something. So yeah - stuff like that does endear him to the fans but don't be deceived - it's his performances on the pitch that got us to love him first - not his Tweeting.

And this is what happens seconds after Harry berates him for wandering too far forward:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GWaMKmEUPU

Also some insight into the man is provided by knowing that before he came to the UK, when he had few months in Brazil with his old club, he spent that time having English lessons and seeing a psychologist so that he would be able to adjust as well and as quickly as possible to the huge change in his life that was coming up. We're talking about a guy in his early 20s here showing huge maturity and sense.

I was gonna question Spurm's use of the word "devastated" as it seemed a bit much but, bearing in mind the fee, bearing in mind what our midfield's like at the moment and the recent exodus of strong characters from the squad I think "devastated" is not too far off.

Oh well - here's hoping Paulinho can some day put his third decent game in for us. Or Lamela his fourth...

If you can keep Sandro fit, you have the bargain of the Summer, bargain of the decade in fact. Without injuries and being 100% fit he'd be worth £25m+ easy. Superb player. When injury free he's the best DM in the league and without a doubt one of the best in Europe/ World on his day.

Charlie Adam also got sent off twice for poor fouls against us. Once for a tackle from behind on Vertonghen when playing for Stoke and once for the following tackle when he was at Liverpool:

Both were second yellows. He's only ever received one other red card in England and that was in the Championship.
Basically, whenever he plays against us he either injures or attempts to injure at least one of our better players, normally whoever's having a good game on the day.

The irony about Charlie Adam is that there is a half-decent footballer in there somewhere, he's got a good left foot. He's just also a massive twat who prefers to win games by injuring people with more talent than him than trying to win them by putting the ball in the back of the net.
