I have no deep understanding of the quality of our recent signings I have no in depth knowledge about their importance in the footballing sense, but what I do know is that the profile and image of Hull City AFC during these last few manic hours of transfer deadline day has shot through the stratosphere in regards that this guy Steve Bruce had done the best transfer dealing of any manager bar none. We have been and still continue to be talked about in awe both on tv and on-line most people are saying Hull City wtf? Slowly, very slowly we are shedding the image of interlopers in the Premier League and there now seems to be a general consensus that Steve Bruce is up there with the best of them the way he has brought Hull City into the limelight which enables better quality players to cast aside decades of prejudices against us and sign up without a second thought Not only that but we are being linked with, although many did not materialise, players that only the customary top teams are usually associated with and who or what is behind this transformation? Well obviously Steve Bruce but our management owners are turning into a latter day Harold Needler clones only more so and with money made available that beggars belief for a club like Hull City. I spent a lot of last night scouting other teams forums and nearly all could not believe the deals being done by Steve Bruce and to be fair many of the other supporters praised Bruce, and the club, for the way things had been conducted. All in all a satisfactory conclusion for us on deadline day but now it all has to fit together or else the snipers will soon be at us in no uncertain manner. But for now well done to all who made this happen which makes watching and reading the many praises coming our way at the moment a most surreal experience.
There's much more money available now with Sky and how you can transfer a player for 12 million. Getting into the top tier was the main thing, then re-investing the money gained back into the team, and of course having the links and the insight to get good loan deals on top of all that.
The number of times I've hard "shows a serious sign of intent" and "you're easily going to be a top 10 team now" and "woah good business!" and "frigging hell, I wish we had owners and a manager like yours, we only got Welbeck" today has made me smile. The "Arfa is ****, you're welcome to him" one too made me laugh, he reminded me of when they went down, close to tears. I don't think the Arse fans would really want to swap Wenger for Brucie, nor their owners for ours but our "stock" has certainly risen somewhat. Tis a good feeling.
I honestly think losing to Villa was a good thing....It prob made Bruce go get the players he did yesterday, if we had won, I think it would of been poss just Abel H
Good post, but I wish people wouldn't keep desperately trying to attribute signings to the owners. At any other club it's the manager that's credited with making signings. In fact one of the redeeming features of the Allams is that they allow Bruce freedom over signings unlike some other mental owners. No one's saying well done the Glazers for bringing in Falcao are they? The idea that all Happy's mates are telling him they wish they had owners like us because we made good signings is laughable.
