Is wrestling actually a sport? I do mean in the format that is shown in the likes of WWE ?? Isnt it more a form of drama/action
Wrestling is a sport, in the olympics. WWE is Sports Entertainment, a soap opera basically. With Storylines and all that ****.
If a forum should be deleted because the result is a foregone conclusion, does that mean the forum for the SPL should go?
WWE is a sport in the same respect floor gymnastics is a sport. It is judged on how it is viewed from the outside, the two guys "fighting" are actually on the same side and trying to produce a performance that will impress the judges or audience. Its more like ice dancing than MMA, but to say its not sprot is quite harsh, after all the Superstatrs are clearly athletes.
Personally I feel that the wrestling which Vincey has been promoting, is seriously OTT... It has gone completely DOHDOH... There are NO wrestling stars like the good ol days... When do we actually see a "proper" wrestling bout!... Not one which is staged outta the ring for 5 mins... Not one which is all tables, ladders and plastic dustbins... One that is actually staged in the ring, with full on grappling... Some of these mismatches are just a joke... Gimme World of Sport from Saturday afternoons of the past, and Vic Faulkner .v. any snakes and ladders matches? What about coffin matches, I mean come on wtf is that all about!!!! Acting is not a sport!! Stalone does his own stunts and films his own action shots, does this mean he is a sports star or a tv/film star?
Its a bit of a mute point isnt it? There is not much "Sport" left in the world. Is the Premier League really sport? you want a mismatch try Manchester Utd vs Swansea?
stallone isnt actually in the boxing hall of fame mate, not as a boxer anyway, seen as though he wasnt one, it was a gesture for his portrayal in a film!!! Stallone is the same in rocky as y our wrestlers, all bullshit lies A sport is something which result is undecided
Wrestling is not a competitive sport, though as athletes the Wrestlers dont deserve to be called actors, they should really reclassify the whole operation so there is not confusion. Why dont they think of a genre for the WWE that suggests its Sport while confirming its Entertainment? It would make it easier on people that cant understand the difference between tv programs and the Olympics.
