I think you can pencil Pelle and Mane in (at least for the moment), so the rest are fighting for 1 starting place. Unless RK intends to have different teams for different matches, which Poch certainly didn't believe in.
Henri Camara was a great player for us. He scored some huge goals, but was let down by the rabble surrounding him. We'd definitely have bought him if we'd have stayed up.
Yeah I liked this aswell, just being realistic and honest. There was no point in Mane moving to a bigger club now even if there was some interest, better to prove that he can play in a league like the PL regularly at a team like ours then move on.
Cracking goal between 6:30-6:45!
Currently playing for Senegal against Egypt. I'm watching the game out of boredom. African football is dire.
And he scored! His teammate passed a great through ball for him, he found himself one on one with the keeper and calmly slotted the ball past him.
He's playing on the left side, but likes to drift in the middle. Truth be told, he didn't see much of the ball. The pitch is a poor state and it's an achievement to control the ball, but he does it better than most of his teammates. He does his defensive duties. He took his goal really well, well timed run behind the defense and a cool finish. Other than that, not much to report.
Second time I've watched that Austrian league highlights video. This time I watched his balance and control, rather than the action. Once he gets to the pace and pressure of the PL we might find ourselves with an absolute star. Rarely have I seen a player with so much balance and control. He barely looks at the ball, yet his feet are always giving it a little nudge here and there, to maintain the speed and control over it. And another thing I like - he does the unpredictable. That's probably going to take his teammates some getting used to. But he's going to reward them with goals and tying up the opposition defence so that they can have an easier time. Can't wait for him to get upto speed.
Hmm Salzburg fans arent exactly distraught that he left. Overall opinion is talented but egoistical. He disappeard from training before their return leg against Malmo in the Cl qualifiers which they lost, (and got eliminated) and he is being blamed for that. Most people on there think it was done to force a move. http://www.austriansoccerboard.at/index.php/topic/91076-sadio-mane/page-92 (in german)
Well, Playing football videos don't tell you much about attitude. I can only go on what I see. Perhaps, as you say, he was angling for a move. Which suggests he might be another potential Lovren. We'll see.
http://www.austriansoccerboard.at/in...o-mane/page-92 (in german) Just had a look at the comments from that link. Seems a bit of understandable bitterness there. Looks like we nicked him from under Spurs nose [previous pages to the one shown].
Yeah i just picked a page really. It goes on for like 28 pages on deadline day alone. It does seem like spurs were in for him, some posters mentioned MP had tried to get him before at some point.
Perhaps harsh at this stage but I don't want players with this kind of attitude at the club. We've had enough poison display itself this summer, looks like he'll either do well and force a move for big£££ next summer or do a Ramirez (warm up by himself, cameo from the bench, off to a less than glamourous location in an attempt to ground him and get him actually playing). He's young so may mature. But above all I dont want those disloyal attitudes around people like Morgan
Looking forward to seeing our new players, though I suspect Mane may be on the bench as he will have little time to slot into the team's style.
Saints players tend to have the right attitude (until Liverpool come calling ), so I hope Mane isn't trouble. However, we should take as we find...sometimes people just need a new start. Didn't work with Osvaldo, but perhaps Koeman has better luck with Mane. He is what we need for now, let's just not fall in love #rememberlovrentheviper
Might attract some flak for my acceptance of this but I'm now living with the knowledge that we're going to have to get used to people using us as a stepping stone to (what they think are) better opportunities. We'll get people like Mané in, they'll spend a season or two with us then move on. I won't get angry about it (it's hard to get angry about something you've accepted) so it'll be fine. It's just the way things are and I'm powerless to change it. As Kurt Vonnegut said in another context*, you might as well be angry at a glacier for doing what it does. Vin * Slaughterhouse 5. One of the better books written, in my opinion. Worth the time.
