Like the look of Hull's signings. Ben Arfa, Ramirez, Diame and Hernandez. All good Prem players at reasonable prices. A bit worried that we have to play United on the day they introduce their new signings - hope they take a while to gel...!
It looks like hull won the lottery, I hope for their sake Bruce produces better than he has so far in his career, cause for a team who have spent that much need better than mid table mediocracy. When you balance our incomings and out goings, our net spend for the quality of players we've brought in is superb. But just like everyone else I think the failure to sign a striker takes some if the lustre off the shine.
Hull, probably. WBA might have done a QPR though they will probably introduce the new players gradually. I think it is going to be very tight this season unluckily for us.
There seems to be some confusion about how much we've spent, our net spend this window was in fact £21.25m and considering we've brought in eleven players, one of which cost £10m, I'd say that was cracking business.
I think Leicester, they've brought in some real quality. Upson - a magnificent centre half Ulloa - one of the best strikers in the league Albrighton - a world class talent Powell - an absolute magician, the next Paul Gascogne Lawrence - going to be a future star Cambiasso - world class midfielder currently in his prime, the best of the best McCarthy/McArthur (whichever one of the many 'mc's' Wigan had) - just a top class player. Hard to beat that lot. I think they could push for the euro spots this season.
Who's bitter mate? I think you've done ok. I'd take our squad over yours personally but that's always a matter of opinion. How many wins do you have so far? But your only here to wind people up. Says so much about you that you look for entertainment buy TRYING to annoy others. What a pleasant way to view life. Jealousy is such a juvenile trait.
Not trying to wind people up at all, there's no discussion like this on our board about other teams, it's all about ours so thought I'd have a quick look at the views. For the record I think Hull, Leicester and QPR have done ok. I only commented due to Hats comments which were obviously a dif at our signings. No Leicester fan would say we have bought world beaters but it is Nige's policy as he doesn't do big names and it will probably suit us fine. As for your signings, I think you've strengthened well apart from your strike force which I think you'd agree with. Defoe would have been a good addition for either club tbh
Hull and Chelsea have done very well. United have been...strange! Crying out for a CB and they got Falcao! Broadly happy with our business too. Sandro really could be key and release Fer/Mutch to play.
Fair play mate sorry for mis-reading your post. We often discuss other teams as we have to play them at some point. We also get a lot of wums so it's common to have to put up with it here.
The Hernandez for Hull isn't the Man Utd one by the way - its someone else from abroad. But back to the OP. I think Chelsea have probably done the best business. Somehow selling Luiz for 50m which has funded a fair proportion of their signings. As for the rest, Hull and Southampton have spent quite a bit (although funded by other player sales). As for the newly promoted sides, I do think we have done the best business overall, but the lack of striker could be the deciding factor. We shall see.
I think Pearson bought ok too - like us I thought he'd have gone for another striker (Deeney being the obvious one) - you can say they are sensible rather than sensational buys, but we of all teams know which ones are liable to work better in the long run. Agree that Hull probably did the best of the normal (i.e. non-CL) clubs.
I don't see the point in wumming as it's frustrating when we get it on our board but when other fans (even Grifter and Queenie) want to have a discussion they're very welcome. I couldn't help point ou the mistake about McArthur though! With you guys it really depends if you can get enough goals from midfield and even defence to stay up as Sandro, Mutch and Fer look good. I think having seen Ulloa he'll provide us with goals as will Vardy when he's fit
West Ham are up there. Zarate is quality, Valencia looked good at the World Cup, Cresswell is a great LB, Song - although flopping at Barcelona - was a great player at Arsenal. Unfortunately though, for me the team who has done best in this transfer window is Chelsea. Selling Luiz, Lukaku and Ba and using that money to get Costa, Fabregas and Remy is very good business. Plus they found someone who would take Torres off them.
