Shocking isn't it ? We've known Remy would be off from the day he signed. We shipped out Simpson, kept SWP. More of the usual last minute flurries with little apparent planning, utterly crazy. If Austin falls on his shoulder again we have an unknown PL player and OBZ to rely upon up front. It really beggars belief.
Seems Fernándes has just confirmed Niko will be the last deal of the day. Has lost a fair bit of weight apparently. But still, God ****ing help us if Charlie gets injured. Just hope Vargas is a secret goal machine!!
Really not good. They should have had some lined up in case. Everyone knew Remy was going, it should have been the top priority.
Really wasn't expecting us to start another Premiership season short of striking options again. Seems insane that we are utterly reliant on Charlie staying fit and cutting it in the Prem.
Defoe was probably our option when Remy went, but there will be players without contracts that are still available. Must be someone who is useful.
Any idea when the loan window ends Radek? We really need someone- anyone. A decent championship striker would at least give us options. Hate to say it, but Watford are probably better stocked than us with Deeney/Vydra etc.
Is that just for season long loans, or all loans? I know Championship clubs get more leeway than PL ones
Well on the bright side, at least the slimmed down Niko easily fit through the door tonight and will help out with a few goals to see us through to the next transfer window, when hopefully Defoe will come in on loan to see the season out. .....and of course we still have our goal scoring/playmaker secret weapon, Adel Taarabt, on the books to help out - perhaps if he gets his body (ask Niko) and head in order he will turn out to be a big surprise for all of us?
Really don't know what y'all are worrying about. We're obviously going to play one up front and on occasion we can go with two if we want. It would have been disastrous had we signed Borini. Expect Vargas to chip in with a decent share.
I thought Vargas was our Remy insurance but they obviously did try for another one as well. We have a number of attacking players like Phillips, hoillet and taarabt who can assist if necessary.
