We should have had a short list of 5 defenders and 5 strikers from end of last season and worked from there. I cannot believe we have not signed a proven striker and given our track record, I doubt very much we will be bringing in one at the last minute. We will no doubt make a token bid, totally unexceptable to the transfer targets club and it will be rejected like we all knew it would but our beloved club will say 'Hey, we tried but we won't be held to ransom, blah, blah, etc'

All the players that we have brought in over the summer were the required amount given previous windows and players that have left the club and others that have been frozen out. It is said you can see the strength in a team when you look at the bench and our bench for the majority doesn't really inspire confidence in regard to tactical changes mid-match yet according to Pardew there is little to no room for anymore signings.

If we fail to bring in a quality defender or/and a proven striker tomorrow it is going to be another dreadful season. The only solace for tomorrow is that fat little c**t David Craig is not the North East correspondent anymore. Christ I detest that foul deviant.

    Nothing will happen for me.

We need to look closer to home at players can actually hit the ground running. I think we may need more than one defender too.

I thought this deviant was replaced! Why can't he be at Sunderland and we get the pleasant Scottish bloke!

This day is going to be even more repulsive

No even a whisper of any incomings.

Failure to get a striker and CB makes this window a fairly poor one.

Of the nine signings we have Darlow & Lascelles on loan at Forest so they don't count as bring nothing to the squad this season. Janmaat replaced Debuchy, Riveire replaced Remy, Ferreyra replaced Shola, Cabella replaced Ben Arfa, De jong replaced Cabaye.

So 7 of the nine either offer nothing this season or have just replaced what we've lost.

Colback is a good addition and although he replaced Gosling he's a clear improvement. So other than him there is only Perez that's improved squad depth. In short we've improved by just Colback and Perez <laugh>

Just think - Forest could be passing us by at the end of the season. What a disaster that would be...

Yup, slightly more depth but Riviere is no Remy, the others are fairly like for like, not seen Ferreyra but I'm assuming he's at least equal to Shola...
This is ridiculous if we don't buy a striker.

Yeah, it's not great. Marveaux also left for what it's worth, so you can't even argue that the depth has improved in terms of numbers, with the one player in Perez.

Don't agree that Janmaat is a downgrade, I would say very similar.

But that's a small difference of opinion, essentially we all know we are weaker without Remy and we still refuse to sign a striker
