It may or may not happen, so this thread could be very short lived.

But simple question, is he good enough to play CF at Arsenal ?

I was delighted to hear that Arsenal are taking Danny Welbeck and his sand wedge of a right foot off our hands <laugh>

Like the BBC feed said, Welbeck has only scored 26 prem lge goals, but that's 26 more than Sanogo.
He was probably sitting somewhere between 10th and 15th on the wish list but he's better than no-one

In all seriousness though, a move away from all the pressure of Man Utd at the moment could be the making of Welbeck.

I'm quite suprised that Arsenal with all the funds they're apparently sitting on, weren't trying to nick Falcao off of us. It looks a good piece of business getting a 60 million pound striker for a season for a fee of 6 million!

If we move for him then that's proof that AW thinks we need a striker. Previous excuses for not moving for players have revolved around AW thinking we don't need to strengthen. But this is now not the case. And given the calibre of strikers that have moved this window... a Welbeck transfer is entirely embarrassing.

Did I hear right that the Falcao deal is worth £346k a week ?
Insane money, proof of Utds desperation and furtehr proof of the mess Fergie left the club in, £200m spent in a window ?

Talk about being bitter, you guys would have loved it if Falcoa was heading your way for that money. That's a good piece of business for a season.

Also do you know how bitter people sound when they try and have a pop at SAF, your just bitter because SAF 9 times out of 10 always had Arsene Wenger and Arsenals measure over the years!

He left us in such a bad way that the squad where the reigning champions. Not his fault that he was such a brilliant manager and other managers couldn't get the same performances out of the same players

If Wenger had actually wanted a striker he would have bought one. That's the myth about Wenger and transfer deals. We're always linked with loads of players, and when we don't sign any people think we just can't close out deals. But actually most of the time Wenger doesn't even want the player and it's complete bollocks made up by the media.

Apparently Wenger has said he wants to sign a player by midnight. I can't see that being a striker. It will either be Carvalho or a CB that no one has ever heard of.

He left you in a mess, a mess that's taken approx £300m to (probably) resolve.
Not bitter at all, money runs the game now, you have more than most, but £346k a week if true is madness and I doubt there's a single sensible Arsenal fan that would have considered that sort of cost as money well spent

The thing with Fergus was, when you played against Utd you played against the name as well as the 11 players. The aura disappeared as soon as he left (except for Arsenal, we still **** our pants at the sight of them for some reason)

Better than nothing I suppose, still better than that space-waster Sanogoals.

Hell no. If we want to compete with the best then we need to buy a top quality CF. Sad how far we've fallen since Wright and Henry....

we are now competing for a manure reject with Spurs!
