BBC Sport's Mandeep Sanghera: "QPR's move for midfielder Lassana Diarra from Lokomotiv Moscow has fallen through.

"QPR boss Harry Redknapp had said the 29-year-old had signed but there's been a late hitch and the deal is now off.

"There seems to be an issue between Diarra and Lokomotiv and the Loftus Road outfit won't be pursuing that one any more."

Seems HR jumped the gun with his announcement at the weekend. Shame really.

HR seems to manage to do that at least once every transfer window!

Diarra's a decent player but we don't need another player who could be difficult to manage

Focus and playing for the team are going to be crucial this season

I'd be more worried about a striker deal falling through.

arent we fairly well catered for in that department? Obviosuly we need a striker but since simpson has gone (odd one IMO given that we'll probably revert to a flat back 4) and possibly Traore, dont we need a defender or two??

I think its a good idea to replace Faurlin what with his injury, so deal makes sense.

Borini was Sunderland 'young player of the year' it says.... though a 1 in 4 strike rate seems not that great...

Might find his scoring rate improves with better service. (Not that I'm say we may be able to give it to him.) Just playing devils advocate.
