'Underwhelmed' was the word that I was about to use! I have a feeling we are at plan F at the minute! Cant be helped I suppose!
I don't see it as underwhelming. Uruguay international, Argentina international and the 3rd could be Italian international or Brazilian international (Jonas). Seems solid to me like.
I'm starting to think that the longer we go without hearing anything official the more likely it is that we are holding back so we could unveil about 3 signings at the same time???? Or am I just being silly!?
Not at all mate, for me, it's pretty clear Alvarez is done and not announced, clearly the club are expecting more business and looking for a multiple announcement
I think I was hoping for Richards on a permanent or Alderweireld (Who we'd have no chance of keeping but is a superior player to Coates for me) on loan for the defence spot. Alvarez looks decent to me and should give us some well needed creativity if he adapts to the league which I can't complain about. The clause saying we have to sign him if we stay up sounds a bit fishy to me though and I don't buy it... What if he flops and doesn't get in the team or he does his ACL or something? Who are the Brazil/Italy internationals you're referring to mate? Jonas from Valencia? I know nowt about this one. Borini... The way the transfer has been handled by whoever has mishandled it has left me unexcited by it. I'm probably just being a negative bastard to be honest. This window has done a job on me, had enough of them.
I don't buy the forced sale thing for a second. It will mean we can turn it permanent if we stay up, not we'll have too.
Agreed, what ever happens we'll retain the right to say we don't want him permanently, I'm sure of it.
I think we might sign another defender because Roberage is going by the looks of it, we will be short at the back with only: Jones RB/LB PVA LB Vergini RB/CB Brown CB JOS CB Coates CB 2 injuries or an injury and a suspension and were down to the bare bones.
User Actions Following Chris Young ‏@YoungSunEcho Borini chase has gone on and on post-Rodwell signing for 2 reasons. 1. Poyet hoping for more money. 2. Possibility of a loan #safc What was our budget then 15mil? ****!!!!
Wow! I hadn't considered Rodwell's fee ****ing up the 14m bid. Could all this be down to tight purse strings from our end?
Looking that way, maybe waiting to sell before we buy, can see Whickham or fletcher being sold to fund the move. We must have the lowest budget in the prem.
If the budget is that low then we're almost certainly now debt free with the new tv money. I'd expect 40m+ budget for next season. After last season I'm very surprised we're taking the same risks again.
Be mental if true. But like with most of the theories, it's just a theory without evidence so I'm keeping an open mind.
The only signings I see coming will be loans pal. it's a ****ing joke when teams like Swansea spend more.
we must have a bigger budget then 15 million. our squad was pretty much decimated at the end of last season and needed serious rebuilding. theres no way we could have done that on 15 million and i would be surprised if gus had resingned on the basis of that budget
Exactly fella, not long to wait. There's 14m not accounted for yet, if we don't spend I'll assume 10 of it went on rodwell and we tried to change the deal for Borini to a loan.
