Very hard to get in to this now. Messages about overload and need to Log In, but could not Log In for maybe 30 minutes.
I have had problems as well. Loading pages sometimes just goes to a message saying server cannot be found. Must be down to the high volume of traffic with it being transfer deadline day!
Its the one day of the year (along with the January deadline day) where this forum provides a valuable service, so usage goes up and it can't cope. Still, it's free so I suppose we can't complain. Just stay logged in and minimise the window rather than log off when you aren't looking at it, might not lock you out then. But I expect it to be dodgy all day.
Maltese Mick ( The site owner ) has just posted this ................ ''I'm pretty sure we had a DDOS, or some sort of attack this morning. I haven't fixed it - it's just stopped, so I'm braced for more...'' ''Something seems to be hitting database intensive parts of the site, knocking it out for a second. We don't actually have any more users than typical busy periods (for instance when Hull win). I've temporarily turned off the 'Experience' ratings under people's profiles (until tomorrow) as that's quite intensive.''
It's a smokescreen - it will be the high demand of fans eager to hear the long awaited news of Jermain Defoe signing.... I'm pinching myself on the hour every hour just in case it's all a dream.
I'm using the iPhone app, and haven't had any issues. The BBC mobile site is another story though - nothing but the deadline day headlines load.
