Didn't see the game, but how was his defending today? Actually thought first half he was ok against City but made a mistake for the 1st and then partly at fault for the 3rd. Like how he got much closer to Townsend for his goal instead of letting him have time and get it under control and then run at him. Obviously learnt from the game against City where he allowed Navas to turn and play the ball into Aguero.
Yeah,Lovren was doing it on the blind side to the ref but the lino maybe should have picked up on it.Glad he didn't obv
All about energy and ability. Both stood up well didn't let much by them but had the energy to play the game like it should be played
Moreno proving to be as good as I thought he was. I haven't seen much of Manquilla prior to his move here, but he's looking good too. Decent competition for Flanno!
As a young player there will be an inevitable learning curve, but today he was good.Closing down quickly, high energy, really bloody quick. Was one or two occasions when Spurs played with real width where he allowed to much space but that's being a bit over critical.
Feel like our fullbacks are always quite narrow. Starting to think that's a tactical choice to stop runs between fullback and centre back.
Just glad to see 2 LFC fullbacks look assured and confident. Hope Manquillo keeps this up and keeps GJ out of the team!
So lfc team was Minger Manky Lover boy Saki Moaner Slippy g Hendo Daddy's boy Razzer Studge Badontelly Until badontelly scores a hat trick I ain't going to super Mario
Ah. Dounting Thomas. Not the result you and the other negative one (Jaffa Kop) were predicting, was it?
Most of our defensive probs yesterday were down to the CBs. Think that was the worst we've seen from Lovren so far and Sakho is starting to disappoint now. Thought he was meant to be a beast, more like a butterfly getting blown around in a strong wind
Disagree - Sakho was poor in his passing (very uncharacteristic of him) but his defending was still good. Lovren was seriously poor. His positioning and judgement were completely off, as they have been in the previous games. The annoying thing is that Sakho's mistakes are more visible so will gather more attention. In hindsight, the errors weren't too bad. Lovren on the other hand made some very poor mistakes which aren't as visible - for example, when he and Sakho went to attack the ball. Sakho was the one who should be going for it, not Lovren. However, both will get the blame even though it was Lovren's fault. He also dived in a number of times and was beaten. Thankfully, Sakho and Moreno covered very well. Still a lot of work to be done - bear in mind that it's not easy to switch from side of central defence to the other, plus this is Sakho's first competitive match alongside a new partner and left full back, I think we should still persist.
