We would have begged for a guy like this over the last 6-7 years. What's changed? Bring him on I say. If he stinks then so be it. I applaud the ambition. And he might actually be good!
I'd like to think he's earmarked for a CM role, rather than wide left. Would mean Rodwell, Gomez,Giacch, Larsson and Alvarez competing for two spots beside Cattermole. Good group of players on the ball those
The quality we are bringing in is a step up from the business we normally do, not just the players but the clubs we are buying the from. Just need to do the business.
Looks a decent player & hopefully we sign Borini/welbeck, richards & one more defender & thats us done.
Is that a ****ing A-Class? Who sends an A-Class for a footballer? Haha. Seriously though, hopefully he's the first of 3, with a CB and striker/winger. In fact, **** the winger bit Buckley looks a smart player, a goalscorer and we are very good.
14:32 Inter Milan attacking midfielder Ricky Alvarez, 26, is closing in on a move to Sunderland after arriving at the club's training ground to finalise his switch: Sky Sports News HQ @SkySportsNewsHQ Here is potential new Sunderland man, Inter Milan's Ricky Alvarez at their training ground. #SSNHQ http://t.co/psM7Nf5jXt
This is great news and a big step forward for Sunderland. We already have a decent squad and players like Alvarez can only improve the quality. It's only recently we were pinning our hopes on the likes of Murphy, McClean, Richardson etc. This lad is a quick tricky player who was in the team that finished 2nd in the world. AJ, Buckley, etc will be thinking, '****, I need to play out of my skin at this club.' Just what we've needed for years, genuine competition for places.
No, that's what "option to buy" means without the "mandatory" part. If there is an "option to buy" of £x million written into a loan contract it means the loaners must sell for that amount at the end of the term if the loane invoke the option. The "becoming mandatory" part means we have to buy if we stop up regardless, so if he plays 10 games, and is ****e, then breaks his leg and is ruled out for two years, we still have to buy if we stop up. Risky business but clearly Gus and Congerton feel it's worth the gamble.
