David McIntyre is suggesting that a move for Kolbeinn Sigþórsson - in my mind always a deal totally dependent on the future of Loïc Rémy - is now progressing. http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/arsenal-make-their-move-for-qprs-remy The Daily Mail concur, suggesting that we're also enquiring about Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...lbeinn-Sigthorsson-replacement-Loic-Remy.html As much as I'd love to see Andros pull on the hooped jersey once more, I think it's pure speculation that won't come to much. I cannot see Spurs selling either player. More likely we will end up with Sandro Raniere instead. It's going to be an intriguing couple of days....
I always worry about late acquisitions, but we seem forced or willing to get into this situation. I'm struggling to understand why we sold Simpson to Leicester or would entertain a bid for Traore from Palace. Not sure we have the enough personnel for 442 let alone 352 (or any variation thereof). I like Lennon + Townsend, but not sure we need wingers right now. Defo need another striker though.
Crouch diarra and Kane wouldn't go a miss .... Crouch would be good impact sub when need to nick a win in a tight game . Surprised we haven't approached Micah Richards .... He can play right or left back ?
Any deal to replace Traore or Simpson can only be deemed a success if we improve upon the players leaving. It seems Harry has a list of possible players, so you would expect he knows who he wants who would be better. Remy is the more difficult one, Harry won't get a 20 goal a season, experienced EPL player for £10.5m. So unless he has an ace up his sleeve we will have the weakened forward line we were expecting in the Summer. Going to be a busy, and interesting, time.
He has been in Sunderland's grasp for a while now. Will sign for them before Monday. He has only played 19 matches in the last 2 years.
If I were Harry and Tony, I'd go all out for Townsend and Lennon, and I would chuck a bid at Swansea for Bony. We need someone to partner Charlie week in, week out.
I suspect that Levy would sell anyone for the "right" price. Depends on how much Tony wants to throw at it
Totally agree that the sale of both Traore and Simpson will only be a success if we get in better quality players. As for Remy, it can't come as a great surprise that he's leaving, so I would hope there is a plan up someone's sleeve!
Harry looks like he wants Diarra, Diame and is going to recall Diakite from loan at Ittihad. When told that Brendan Rogers was having trouble with diarrhea, Harry said "How much does he want for the boy?"
I'm sure Harry has a lot of strikers on the radar, I'm sure he knew this would happen. I had hoped I wouldn't be glued to ssn tomorrow, but it now seems it will be the busiest ever for us. I just hope it doesn't turn into another anti-climax as we really do need quiet a few players. But all the board members are in town so we should get the business done, as long as we aren't held to ransom.
If so, he recalls our stellar performances in our first season back in the old third division when we had both ****tu and Doudou playing for us. Whatever happened to Doudou? One of our most popular players of the last few years.
This could have been avoided. Still, I'm sure there's a few more lovely boys out there ready to be snapped up. I pray (not in vain, I hope) that we don't end up with a pile of versatile 'play anywhere except in attack' defenders and midfielders especially if we pay good cash for them and then release them at the end of the season.
I'm not so sure about. There's a multi-million pound industry racking up the prices to make more profit for players and agents all geared towards deadline day. That's without even mentioning the resources Sky put into "The Deadline Day" show.
Agree that it is majorly hyped up. Almost puts pressure on clubs to put of deals until the last day so they are not forgotten in the last day media frenzy! Also, regarding Doudou...seems his spell with us was the highlight of his career; http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doudou_(footballer)
