Did the same as you Aussie, got up, rushed to the computer and we had won. Makes sunday morning a different feel for a long time...
Quicker, more urgency but still had control. It looked very good at times and such a contrast to last week. I can see that being Hoddles influence as Barton was passing quicker/first time etc which he hasnt been doing under Arry. Another 2 weeks under Hoddle and I can only see us getting better which is fantastic but Im sure Arry will be everyones cup of tea getting the praise...... I will not be changing my opinion of him but am absolutely over the moon with our win and 100% behind the team.....................
Of course. When we're doing sh*t its Harry's fault but when we win its down to Hoddle, Guru Black, the fairy Godmother etc For fukk's sake
Great?...not quite BUT I can clearly see progression and moving forward. look a bit weak at CM but some great performances and so happy for Charlie... onwards and upwards with "Sir Harry"
Very sad post IMHO. If you wanna slate him for loses then you have to credit him for wins...otherwise you are just a hypocrite. Deal with it and move on mate
Just watched the game. We must have been doing some good work this last week. Thought it was a huge step up from the Spurs game. We competed and matched Sunderland. We needed to be thereabouts home to them, as like us they aren't going to be far off the relegation places. MOM for me was Barton, all over and good passing and great header on a shin! Fer and Phillips were both so much better than Spurs, Phillips played a lot on the right side of midfield and is far better there. Fer looked like he was a lot fitter, and is clearly a big asset. Clint had a great game again, not threatened much at LB - Harry or someone got that right. Our right side defence with Isla and Phillips were overun early on, but seemed to sort it. Traore did well in his 10 minutes, both his run for his shot and at the back. Hope it wasn't his last 10. I hope we can keep that improvement going as the players get to know each other, and if we can keep the quality that Remy and Adel provide, and Vargas and Diarra should provide, we could be all right. But if Remy goes which looks very likely, we desparately need another very decent striker. If Adel is off, another No 10 please.
This win also means we know we can beat any of the bottom two thirds teams at home and that is survival / development form.
Has anyone else noticed the lack of threads and posts about yesterday's WIN? I know that there are distractions such as Remy going and possible signings, but it does look like many posters only bother when they can have a whinge, shout "Harry Out" or "We would have won if Adel had played". Get a win and they have nothing to say.
I had nothing to say about the first two losses - I believe time will tell how good this team is (or as some would seem to have it - how bad). I can only reiterate the relief in hearing of our win (being at a party for the Bournemouth Air Show and missing the game - those Red Arrows are amazing). Great to hear positive comments on our play and hope we can keep improving as a team. Similar relief to hear our new signings having good match performances too. I am sure it will settle everyone down and allow everyone to have a positive mental approach to winning rather than negative approach to scrambling points to survive. Kudos to all the staff and team for the win.
Agree, we have been hearing the same line, for so long, some find it difficult to say they were wrong.
First time I have watched MotD twice for a long long time... a small glow of happiness, which will last for two weeks, is hanging over my computer ...well until Arry sells Hill and Ned tomorrow and brings in Defoe and Crouch
It's amazing isn't it? But consistent if nothing else. My knee is absolute agony this morning, all bloody Harry's fault!
Reading the match thread I thought I'd accidentally gone on another clubs site! Haven't seen that much positivity for about 3 years!
.:emoticon-0118-yawn : Hope you are well happy because we got 3 points on the board, and beat Sunderland, and not only happy because maybe it shut up the "Harry Haters" and "Moaners", whoever they are.[/QUOTE] What a stupid statement! Unlike most of the Harry bashers, my view is more balanced and based on fact. Another fact is no matter who is in charge, whoever is playing for us, I always want us to win, that is all that matters'
Fer can be our No10 mate. Very impressed with him. Clint did play well, but he was also well supported by Hoilett who worked tirelessly up and down the left flank, whilst giving their right back a nightmare time! Clint can't play left back all season in this league though!! Barton had a very good game. However, Phillips left Isla exposed a lot first half, although that was sorted out for the 2nd half. Isla contributed to these problems by being so attacking, but hey, such is a modern fullback I suppose.
This is where a player like Diarra would excel, moving to cover when a wing-back bombs forward, it's essential we get a specialist DCM that reads the game clearly...
