6 goals against Everton at Goodison is pretty formidable. Defintely the team to beat - unless we can buy a World Class striker in the next few days.
I think the difference this year is that with a proper striker they wont throw away those points against dross teams..
Everton were horrific in defence and have been so since the start of the season. Chelsea showed they can be vulnerable too, today.
I know. Which idiots on here have been trying to claim means Mourinho is a failure as a manager ever since, because we won the FA Cup and he didn't win anything last year in his first season back. People like you jumped on me when I tried to point out that Mourinho is capable of putting together squads who do stuff like this. And we're capable of putting together a squad which is able to get a last gasp 2-2 draw against a team Chelsea can score 6 against. Time to face up ... Chelsea are better than us this year.
Hard to judge so early but they are looking formidable. Xmas time will give us a better indication of where we are and the other top teams.
I think we all know we'd need to sign a good two or three players to be in a position to challenge. And that's not going to happen on deadline day.
doing stuff like this . ? Like what ? getting 3 points away ? I would hope we are too . football doesnt work logically , if it did you could say Bradford City would beat Chelsea . They beat us , ergo , they would beat Chelsea. We could only draw at Everton , Chelsea stick 6 past them . So what ? They could play them again next week and lose. Logically , Manure should have thrashed Burnley . Didnt happen
Well then, the fact we only created three real chances against them says something about us. City hav'nt looked great and back to back titles are rare, United look terrible, Liverpool are Liverpool and we have Sanogoals up front. Chelsea have the best squad and the most successful manager for me they are pretty clear favourites.
well then we must make sure that when we play them , we not only NOT ship 6 goals . But that we get 3 points from them .
Could have sworn Sanchez played upfront in Giroud's absence but that's just me. Sanchez, Theo and Podolski are all higher up the pecking order than Sanogo.
Sanchez up front doesn't work in our system. And we don't have a manager who's willing to change to get wins, like Chelsea do.
Don't know why people keeps listing Podolski as a striking option, he's played there like 3 times and was utter garbage. I'd honestly rather play Sanogo in that position
Last gasp win against managerless Palace, draw and a narrow victory where we got outplayed for most of the game against Besiktas, last gasp draw against Everton. And is there any one of those first four games where you'd say we played well? If our strategy is to not play well and draw half our games, then it's working.
to be fretting about Chelsea , or indeed any team , 3 games into the season is just crackers . We just need to worry about what we are doing .
Apologies if you guys have posted this stat somewhere already, but as you got so much stick for the trophiless stint you had recently, I thought you would enjoy this. Arsenal have won 2 domestic trophies since United last won a competitive game.
