From what I've seen of him he's a very, very good player. Holding midfielder mainly, but he's capable on the ball and can definitely play some good football. Redknapp turned him from a £5.5m signing to a £19m sale at Pompey in less than a year, so he clearly enjoys playing under him. Played at the top level with Madrid and has a decent number of caps for France, too. Only real problem seems to be his ego and the occasional injury. The former might just be his desire to always be in the first XI, though. Should be quite an improvement, in my opinion.
He's a defensive midfielder which is good. Once was rated as one of the best talents in his position. But for a player who's 29 years old to have made less than 200 games in his career and played for as much as 7 clubs. Flawed? It could be a stroke of genius, or another Samba Diakite.
Well he had his best spell playing under Rednapp, if he can get the best out of him again then we'll be laughing.
Yes, here it is ............ http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28999378 Quote from Harry ....... "He's signed. I think everything is agreed. He was down with the chairman (Tony Fernandes) last night and I am just delighted to have him. He's a top, top, top player," Redknapp told Sky Sports after Rangers earned their first points of the season." I'm thinking that this guy must be really something, he rated '3 tops' by Harry.
Something of a contradiction here. IF he has signed then everything would have been agreed. No think about it. I expect that it is only a matter of time before the club announce him as our player, but as we all know, until Ian Taylor personally says it has happened, It Ain't So! Perhaps contracts can't be registered on a Sunday? That could explain why the window is open tomorrow.
