Barmby, Turner, Deano, Ricketts, Macca? (!), Koren, Chessy, Fryatt, Elmo, all the new lads like Thudd, Big Mac etc? He's good but jesus, behave. (just realised you coul've meant since 2010, if so its not a bad argument, but still very debatable)
Like I saw a comment saying Hernandez would be our most important signing ever if he signs. Er no, I reckon Hudd takes the cake easily. Transformed us from relegation certainties last season into a side that 'comfortably' stayed up, and really began to attract top talent.
'Tis all relative - I could name you 20 players in the last 60 years you could have said the same about "best ever signing". There will be an even more important signing next season ??
How do you work that out - the Bosnian is far more attack minded (despite playing LB ocationally), Hudd's role is closer to DMF over AMF. Mind, he's not exactly a ball winning DMF.
How about getting a Quinn back up instead of Quinn being replaced? Invest in an up an coming youngster.
Thursday night was evidence how important Huddlestone is to the team, without his style of play, being available for others to pass to then picking a pass, we struggled. You don't realise how important players are sometime until they are not there playing, and this was the case Thursday night.
Even if Hudd isn't having a big impact, the opposition has to be mindful of him, which frees up the other players.
He also reads the game exceptionally well, which means he can intercept or cut off potential forward passes and slow up the opposition attack. A defensive midfielder doesnt always have to go crashing in with tackles to stop the opposition flowing forward
Huddlestone is the perfect holding midfielder. Excellent at spraying passes about, can hold the ball up from deep in midfield without squandering possession whilst we push out, excellent at snuffing out danger and breaking down opposition moves and he's a ****ing big bastard.
I think Chester at £300,000 is the pick of the bunch there but I'd even go as far as to add Boyd at £200,000 and even Davies and McGregor weren't that much either.

Sky reporting we have made an undisclosed bid for Cleverley - but SB didn't know how far negotiations had gone as he had been in London www1.skysports.com/football/news/11714/9447643?
David Burns ‏@bbcburnsy 1m More from Hull City's Steve Bruce @HumbersideSport on Chelsea's Van Ginkel, "Yes I'm interested but I'm not sure he's available".#hcafc Looks like he's going to go after Cleverley.
Current england international playing for man utd fergie got the best out if him maybe bruce will as well
I wouldn't mind cleverley, he's not england/united level but would be very good for us. However, £8 million or whatever is too much for an out of favour player imo.
