Dream targets for next season

Dream target for the 2011/2012 Season

  1. Barely survive in 17th place, but Sunderland get relegated

  2. Mid-table mediocrity, but high-scoring double wins over Liverpool and Sunderland

  3. Relegated, but win a domestic cup and get Europa entry

  4. 7th place and into Europe, but Sunderland finish higher

  5. Top four and Champions League place, but Liverpool win the league and Carroll is top scorer

  6. Win the Premiership, but then go into administration and have to sell the whole squad

West Ham to stay in the Championship, win the league and beat the bin dippers.

Got to be champions league! Don't like Liverpool but don't dislike them enough to give up our own success

Notice that every success comes with a condition. That's the Newcastle United way.

Achieving European football would be a great season, I think the likes of Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Ba etc have been promised this in the near future. Only way I can see them staying for the long run.

If we're dreaming I'd go for top 4 and CL, as I don't want us to go into administration.

A good mid-table, solid season, a good cup run, and the double over Sunderland, Liverpool and Manure.

Europe can wait another season, our squad isn't good enough for it yet.

It isnt big enough now, that's why we spend this year trying to qualify for it, then our squad could be readied next summer. If we dont even target Europe til next season I will be disappointed by the lack of ambition.

We can target Europe, but we don't need to set it as a number 1 priority.

Not being relegated, beating Sunderland and the Bin-Dippers, and generally moving forward as a club are far more important objectives for this season.

This, and in order to attract better players and keep some we already have, we need to get into Europe.
