If these players are genuinely surplus to requirements then fine (well, not that fine because they're both decent players) but why are we possibly selling these to rivals. Simpson is reliable, you know what you'll get and it should be good enough in a well drilled team. Traore could be fantastic under the right leadership and given a run (he definitely is a confidence player). We're giving these deals the biggest chance to bite us on the backside whilst leaving ourselves wafer thin on wing-backs that can defend (ie not exclusively wingers).
Awful when you feel you can't recognise your team. Deja vu ? Simpson, solid, reliable and puts in a shift. We'll get naff all for him too I suspect, madness surely.
We should not be shifting any players (from the 25) without a replacement. We should also get the replacement FIRST, so we do not leave ourselves short. Without Simpson we have one right back (Onouha) and that's not even his best/pref position. Isla is not a right back, he's a wing back , subtle difference.
I tell you what, this beggars belief it really does. Our promotion team being ripped apart yet again. Same old mistakes from people who had supposedly learnt! I honestly cannot believe it. And to sell to rivals who are fighting to stay in the division with you! Simpson is easily good enough as a back-up as is Traore. Not world beaters, but you can't rip your promotion squad up.
Don't understand the sales of Simpson and Traore. Surely we should be trying to build a strong 25 man squad, this piece of business will not achieve that objective. I can understand it from a financial point of view though. Signed on a free last summer and should fetch a couple of million now, decent profit in 12 months. But he needs replacing and I can't see us getting anyone cheaper, leaving only a loan as a possibility. Poor decision in my humble opinion.
I hope it's all speculation, although I did read somewhere quoting Harry as "we've accepted and offer from Leicester". As unanimously stated above by all, bad move and will damage team structure and morale. What ever happened to rewarding loyalty? Lessons do not appear to have been learnt.

I'm not too bothered about him going, always thought of him as a bit like my appendix. Not sure what his function is but he can bloody hurt you. Nedum is better defensively in a 442, he's not good enough for 352 and it might mean Harry has someone else lined up?? If there is no replacement, agree it would be better to keep him.
I really wish the transfer window would shut before the season begins. Yes, we've had a poor start, but that seems to have thrown us into panic mode. Without the option to buy, perhaps we could actually start developing the players we've got rather than saying they're all not good enough after a couple of games. Be gutted to see Simpson sold, and Traore has potential in a more attacking role - certainly a far better prospect than SWP.
I disagree with this sale for 2 reasons; 1. We're still playing the wrong formation, in the correct 1 I believe Simpson should be starting all the away games as he's defensively pretty solid 2. He's an English player. Communication was key in our back 4 last season and we need the same again. Any back 4 of Simpson, Onouha, Caulker, Rio, Yun would be decent options for us.
Well all I can say is there must be some sort of strategy/plan if we are selling Simpson and possibly the chief and traore. It must be one helluva plan because I cannot see how it works. Oh well least we have Dunne to cope with the pacier players in the premiership. I still agree that we need some games after this infernal transfer window to truly judge the plan and I live in hope. Although less hope today than I had yesterday.
another sign of no brains behind the management ....we need players like Simpson who are young willing to work hard and no nonsense attitude....he played well for us both defensively and going forward, again build a team and then tear it apart....just like the good old days
I am not happy at the sale for many of the reasons you cite. It is worth remembering that as I understand it, there is a GBH or similar charge hanging over him at the moment and should he be jailed, we'd be left light in that area. Edit: I could be wrong here but did Marlon King not play at Leicester after being let out. It might be something that doesn't bother them as much.
Marlon King has never played for us ... we did have the original 'pineapple on his head' Jamie Lawrence many many years ago who, I seem to recall, had spent some time at Her majesty's Pleasure ... Simpson would fit one of our recruitment strands ... young players who did not quite make it at Man United and look to have a point still to prove ... he will give direct competition to another Uited 'graduate' Richie De Laet should the transfer go through ...
If this is true then we deserve to go down. No hyperbole there- this is total bullsh1t. Leicester have a great player on their hands; one of our standout performers from last season.
