Gruß Gott, Rainer! ............and you think you've got problems! Am now in defensive mode for yet another ass-tanning, this time by the Mackems this weekend, at home too. Yes, am feeling very despondent at the moment, bloody déjà vu all over again............:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Mr Nassau Board to the payout window please - winner !!

Just remembered we are having salmon this evening and fish twice in one day is simply overdoing it. So chilli it was, enlivened with a decent dose of tabasco.

    1. SWAN: maybe.,..but I suspect our problems are bigger than yours. Dec.28 should tell us.

    2. STICK: it's called having too much time on your hands for the acquiring of useless information (btw, I'm surprised you let your wife use that kind of language in the house). About Hwfa - I don't have the necessary phonetic symbols on my keyboard but, as a politically incorrect guide, try to hear Michael Holding saying 'hoover'.

    3. RON/ODDY: see how much livelier the thread gets when you speak to their bellies rather than their brains ?

And I seem to have misread the market over Tupi (currently 5/2, and plenty of it): may have to dig myself out of a hole there. Off for a few days, to provide a mature adult dependency figure for my oldest grandson. Good luck today, everyone, particularly whoever was getting the fish curry.

Never fails to get the juices flowing rainer, a bit of the old food talk. I've been in supplier meetings the last 3 days, where I managed to consume my own weight in biscuits and coffee. Glad to get back to something normal today.

Enjoy the time with your grandson, especially if he is already old enough to buy you a pint <ok>

I say the old ‘daily thread’ has a very cosmopolitan feel to it today. Everyone should give themselves a pat on the back. Culinary tips, travel information and even dating advice. We’ve hit a new high, people.

I've only ridden a camel once in my life (in Morocco) but my advice would be keep well away from the arse end, especially if the camel has a bag attached to catch its piss. Mine did. No idea why - maybe to keep the flies off the guests? Perhaps Swanny can enlighten us?

The other advice I can pass on from my trip to Morocco is this: Don't EVER get the idea to eat sheep's brain. You could probably extend that to include any other type of brain too. Revolting stuff.

Lord, I don't know, Oddy, didn't mean to sound like a camel expert, which I ain't! Never did notice bags under them, quite a good idea though, come to think of it. Just had to concentrate on getting on safely, riding around safely, and getting off the bloody thing safely. Quite a triumph when I managed it....<laugh>

P.S. Daughter was a wee lass then, she thought it marvellous and wanted to take one home!

Question gents, as I am someone who never wants to ride a camel (or any other animal bar a horse/large dog).

Do you get an understanding from the camel that it wants to do as its told, or are they as recalcitrent as Mad Moose is? Every image I have seen of them makes them look like that want to throw you off and watch you roll around in the sand.

Hoping for a decent run by the excellently named Childesplay here. By Byron, who certainly rode a few camels in his day.
