Sagbo was sent off because the ref thought he was trying to impersonate a footballer!

I don't think he knew whether he'd hurt his head or foot at first.

definitely a red nowadays, if that was against a Hull City player I'm sure we'd all be wanting a red card!

Yeah, it seems a bit reckless from Sagbo. Looks a red to me.

Actually I think it was for a reckless foul.

Hope Sagbo not going to become peoples new whipping boy, doesn't help us at all people having a go at our own players

Saying it was a sending off isn't making him a whipping boy. The team was **** today, some worse than others.

I think he might have been having a go at my comment which was meant as a joke.
Like other 'strikers' before him, Sagbo does give 110% but that is no good without talent. I was howled down when I criticised Altidore, Proschwitz, Aluko and Sagbo by virtue of the fact that I am 12,500 miles away and didn't see them play in the flesh. My answer to that is that I have not seen Messi, Ronaldo, Zidane, Van Persie or Henry in the flesh but I can tell that they are/were exceptionally gifted players. Like Altidore, Proschwitz and Akuko, Sagbo has no end product and that is what counts. Explanations like he is a 'hold-up' player (for who?) are simply excuses for the fact that he doesn't score. We need more at this level and I believe that Sagbo would make his presence felt in the Championship where he would not be up against the finest defenders in the world.
We now have to see how long it takes Hernandez to 'gel' with the team and how (if) he can adapt to the Hull City style of play. He may be a 'sleeper' who takes a little more time than others to adapt whereas he may adapt straight away and start banging the goals in (oh wouldn't we just love that!).

Looks like an accident, albeit a bit reckless.

That's a cynical foul; no complaints.

A deffo red for me, bit reckless. He didn't connect properly, but it was the intention I think.

It's late and probably a red - but why does the Lokeren player go down holding his head? :steam:

the ref wanted it to be a 'no contact' sport.
    simple.
I was sat by 1/2 way line. Feigning a head injury is a clever way of getting our player sent off.

To those above who say it was a red, what are you seeing that I'm not? Sagbo had the ball so I'm not sure I would even call it a 50/50 challenge. His foot isn't high. From what I can see he misses the ball and stands on his foot. A foul maybe but I think a yellow would have been harsh never mind a straight red.

It's a booking, the dying swan act from the Lokkeren player helped the fussy ref to his decision. And no way were we twice as 'dirty' as them!

Steve Bruce is better at picking out defenders than he is strikers and it can be frustrating seeing so many other teams with people who know how to hit the net more than us.
