Your preferred formation and likely first choice XI as things stand, go! Mine is a 4-2-3-1 with the addition of Di Maria. Rather play with attacking wingers and outscore the opposition (because we will certainly concede) than play so many players in positions/roles that they are so uncomfortable with... I think we might adapt to a 5-3-2 by next season, but we don't have the composure at the back or natural wingbacks to play it properly yet. Our strength has always been out wide with wingers and overlapping fullbacks, our players look lost atm. Option 1: DDG Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw Carrick Herrera Mata Rooney Di Maria RVP Option 2: DDG Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw Carrick Herrera Januzaj Mata Di Maria Rooney Lots of depth in reserve, Valencia at FB or AMR, Evans & Smalling at CB, Fletch at CM, Young at AMR or AML, Hernandez/Welbeck at CF if they stay, plus all the youngsters. Above two options are really a choice between RVP and Januzaj, and Mata gets stuck out on the wing if RVP plays but he can cut inside with the overlapping FB (Rafael or Valencia) creating the width. I believe we would get top 4 fairly comfortably if using the familiar formation above, using a 5-3-2 is probably better long term if LVG definitely wants to head that way, but it's a lot more risky in the short term... Th(o)ghts?
With a fully fit squad, either formation looks fine. The press and wums are having a field day with the lack of form and injuries, but that will soon change
--------------De gea Rafael evans rojo shaw --------------Carrick -------Herrera di maria Januzaj rooney ---mata --------------de gea Rafael jones rojo shaw --------Herrera carrick ---------------Mata Di maria----------rooney --------------- rvp
My preferred formation would be --de gea Rafael jones rojo shaw -----Herrera carrick -----------Mata Di maria----------rooney ------------ rvp The key in the next few matches: the hunger, the passion, the speed, the passing accuracy, the patience and the tempo. All of these have been seriously lacking. Not seen such an untypical united side for a long time. Still baffled how far this group of players have fallen - even worse than I had expected.
The first reply on every thread is from a Chelsea or Liverpool poster. Win, lose or draw, they're fascinated by United!
......... de Gea Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw ........... Carrick (or new signing) Di Maria Mata Herrera ........... Rooney .......... Rvp
The guy that can't even spell his name right (Shteve) and the bonnetweaing guy (weararedbonnet) are newbies and don't understand it's a multi-board forum. That in a fact is what makes not606 the best football forum about. But they'd rather have (at times) 5 people on their board discussing Utd than have oppostion fans join in. This place has barely any rules, so bonnet man and STEVE get used to it or politely **** off
That zip restricting your oxygen supply again Essex Boy? By the way, if you're going to use spelling to have a pop at somebody then you should work on your own or you look like a fool!
With regards to the OP - option 1 looks better, but you look vulnerable to attacks down the left (unless Di Maria) is a winger that tracks back and get's stuck in, which I believe he isn't (may be wrong). I guess depending on the opposition you'd change it up - for example if you played Shaw and Di Maria on your left against Liverpool, then Sterling and Manquilli (sp?) would have a field day. Both options have there strenghts and weaknesses - but overall not bad starting 11's at all. It's when you have to bring in the splinter boys that's going get you buttfucked.
I did it it once - big deal. That once was only because he does it none stop to people, I type too fast and can't be bothered to check I've made no mistakes, simply because I don't give a **** if I have. Get over it, If you're still concerned about it then go speak to someone that gives a ****.
