I would have thought that the rugby mad town of Hull would have snapped up the tickets. We did have the 2 lowest crowds of the World Cup in Hull though. No foreign visitors spotted.
Tim Van Aerde ‏@TimVanAerde Just had a lovely visit to 'the deep'. Time for some beers now. #282uptohull #CityinEurope // @HCAFCinEurope
Are you sure? I seem to remember the RL giving sackfull's of tickets away to local schools for the Fiji game, they couldn't give tickets away??
Just had a wander round town on my lunch hour. The Belgians appear to have embraced British culture by packing out McDonalds & Wetherspoons. Welcome to England.
Ignoring the 25,000 crowd for the Fiji game then? Plenty of Fijians, Aussies and Kiwis there as well.
I should think there was, it was the World (tiny as it is) Cup FFS. I'd be more surprised if there were none there. How many visitors do you think we would get to the city if we played a football world cup game here? We wouldn't have to be offering buy one get two free tickets offers or begging local schools/groups etc to take as many tickets as they want for nothing. to make the place look full. Compare to Fiji RLWC game, the attendance figure which I seriously doubt, to the England Under 21 friendly game played at the KC where EVERYONE had to pay. Tell me, why do you always have to justify rugby league on a football forum? 99.9% on here are not interested.
Again comparing football to RL says nothing about our City or the fanbase, it simply reflects the national and international profiles of both sports. I went to that game for free, as did many others. You and a few select others bring it up, if your not interested then don't keep ****ing whining on about it. I never start the conversation but I sometimes feel the need to put your misinformed and biased comments into perspective.
Not disagreeing, crowd figures are never accurate, but I'm curious what part of the video suggests there's less than the announced attendance there?
'Few Lokeren fans outside of 3 Johns singing their head off. Sound like they are enjoying Hull. #hcafc'
Friend of mine got the job of driving the lokeren owners about! Took them to skidby mill last night for meal hosted by AA.
I wonder if any of the Lokeren fans, who will have been taught the correct use of English, will be pointing out the elementary howler on the notice?
