This is unfortunately the case nowadays. Most of my favourite albums are from the early-mid 90s. Prodigy - Jilted Generation; Leftfield - Leftism; Oasis - Morning Glory. Since 1995 though it's anything by the Chemical Brothers - with We are the Night being my favourite album of the 21st century. I do like a lot of 60s and 70s Rock but only started liking it retrospectively after passing my 30th Birthday. Basically I grew up on Rave.
Top four albums where you don't have to remember what the album's called to buy it... Killing Joke - Killing Joke The Clash - The Clash The Doors - The Doors Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
Thing is my tastes change with the seasons and what were my faves a few months back are not always the same later on, I know a fave is a fave but sometimes I'm in a headbanging mood other love songs mood, can't explain it. Which brings me to another point, I was sorting through my CD's the other day and one of my faves is missing and I haven't a sodding clue as to where it is, Eurythmics, damn, anyway the list. 1. Rubber Soul - The Beatles 2. Rumours - Fleetwood Mac 3. Revenge - Eurythmics (When I can find it) 4. Wild Angels - Martina McBride 5. Simon & Garfunkel's Greatest Hits - Simon & Garfunkel 6. Best Of Bread - Bread 7. The Very Best Of The Eagles - The Eagles 8. Queen The Platinum Collection - Queen 9. The Best Of The Shadows - The Shadows 10. An Evening With John Denver - John Denver
Most of my favourites have been mentioned already. However, if I stick to albums not yet mentioned on here (unless I've missed 'em)... The Sundays - Reading, Writing & Arithmetic Pixies - Doolittle The Wedding Present - Bizarro The Jam - All Mod Cons Pulp - Different Class Depeche Mode - Violator The Bluetones - Expecting to Fly Doves - Lost Souls Radiohead - OK Computer Muse - Absolution
New York Dolls - New York Dolls The Beatles - The Beatles (normally incorrectly named as the White Album).
I think your right when it comes to mainstream music (which many of the albums people of listed on here are), but in nearly all sub-genres albums are still king.
It's one of my favourite of all time and would definitely make my top ten. I think it's extraordinary. I wonder who will go down as having the biggest influence in music history - them or Ocean Colour Scene?
Definitely Ocean Colour Scene, Steve Craddock can play the who New York Dolls back catalogue using one finger.
Yes, using one finger, obviously. If they'd practiced more, they could have sounded like this...
