BHAFCVerified account ‏@OfficialBHAFC BREAKING: #BHAFC have signed striker Sam Baldock from Bristol City on a four-year deal. http://buff.ly/1tDpwdt
Good bye Sam 6 months good service, onwards and upwards bring on Agard. Certainly Sam had not started to well.
Un necessary to sell, concerned about our forward numbers now.. Wilbraham seems to promote hoof ball.. JET at the moment is non existent in the games he plays.. Agard will lead the line but we need another player similar to him, plus the goalkeeper.. This is the most negative news to come out the club for along time though..
The club needs to release how much it received for Baldock, because if we got anything less than £3-4m for him we were f**ing ripped off, especially after all this talk of "Offer £5m and we'll talk" from our manager. Both clubs are reporting an undisclosed fee, which means that we we sold him for a lot less than £5m. Brighton haven't listed it as a record signing, so it's less than £4m. A lot of "sources" on Twitter are suggesting that he went for £1m, which if true is a farce. The icing on the cake is that we we told that Agard was not a replacement for Baldock, and the manager lied to us.
I think we might be in for someone else,we need another striker and a bloody goal keeper. It does sound negative regards a promotion push. Let see what Cotts has to say about this. But I truly believe Agard will more than compensate for Baldock. As said six months was not great over 2 years in my opinion.
To be fair we have averaged 2 pts/game with minimal impact from Baldock this season. With JET seemingly discarded by SC we are down to two strikers tho. If it was only £1m as reported then as usual we have got poor value for our prize asset. SL needs coaching from Fry at Posh!
Agard joining was definitely bringing into question Sam's tenure. We have no idea if the club offered him a longer contract or whether he decided to ride out this year and go on a free. We have to be realistic about the price as well....with less than a year left on his contract, his price will have fallen considerably. 1 million is probably not far off the mark. Personally I would have waited until the January window. Life goes on. He was a good player for the club (servant is an over used term these days amongst the fickle players).
My post 20-8-2014 "You sure it doesn't mean if Agard signs Baldock is on his way to Brighton" wouldn't surprise me Hoped i'd be wrong, but i was right, big shame.
Apparently Maynard is leaving Cardiff tomorrow for a league 1 club on loan... Imagine bridges have been burnt there though.
I thank him for his efforts on our behalf and the way he captained the side. Never gave less than 100% for us. Best wishes at Brighton. We have a ready replacement in Agard so let's move on. Upwards I hope.
Last week Cotterill discussed the Baldock situation. It was clear then and I posted. 'Cotterill mentioned 'sting in the tail' about possible Baldock transfer' 'Just can't believe Baldock will stay' Also thought it would happen when season Ticket sales were finished. City must think we came down in the last shower. 'one hopes they had planned for this' They knew weeks ago, just kept it to themselves. Think I'll rerun video clips of Cotterill saying 'Baldock's not going anywhere'. I feel like a laugh.
He had no intention of signing a new contract, and less than a year left on his current one. It's a no brainer we had to sell him.. Hopefully Agard will be an adequate replacement.
'Cotterill WANTS!!! 4 strikers. Agard is the 4th. Baldock will be staying' Shiny - never believe Cotterill. He'll say whatever comes into his head. You must give him 5 minutes to engage his brain. Also 21/8 Rickster and Loathsneyd - 'stupid boys' ?? NamNed - Positive or gullible ?
We need another striker now. I think that's clear enough.. SC did say he wanted 4 strikers.. and I'm sorry but Burns is not a striker by any stretch of the imagination
