Seems like it been a while since we've had one.

Being an Indie Rock fan most of my life, what with growing up in the 90, I stuck to what I knew and scoured the internet for the latest new good bands, But as I've matured I've found myself drawn to music like soul, jazz and Rhythm & Blues. This has been great as I'm discovering new artists all the time(well new to me anyway).

What are your most resent discoveries, weather they be new on the scene or been around the block?

My recent discovery is 'Screaming' Jay Hawkins. From what I've read he's was an absolute loon! Listened to a couple of tunes and have purchased his Frenzy album. What a voice! Love all the raw grunts and howls too.

As a big northern soul fan I was delighted to find a up tempo version of I put a spell on you.

Not genre restricted lads so what's new to you?

Saw a band called Losers last year supporting Gary Numan. They were class.

Turns out the lead singer is a Mackem so, whilst he was signing my CD, we took the piss out of the scum after the 2-1 game. Top man, great band.

I like my local bands, Oasis, The Verve, Stone Roses etc but I'd say a good 90% of my ipod/iphone is hip-hop music.

I like pretty much all hip-hop, I love the pioneering stuff but my favourite hip-hop music comes from the likes of DJ Premier, The Cut Chemist, J-5, some of the lyricists that come out with political rap are harder to swallow but I love Vinnie Paz from Jedi Mind Tricks. The main stream stuff is pretty depressing although I do like some of the older guys who are still at the top.

Having said that, my brother has recently turned my head to Frank Turner who I really like, maybe my horizons are expanding!

I struggle with motivational songs in the gym, I have a few rock/metal songs that I use but I don't know enough about the genre to find any more, I wouldn't have a clue where to start.

This is a track that I often use after a massive one at the gym, just lie on the mat and calm down with this masterpiece from DJ Premier...

Bar pop music, there's very little that I don't like a bit of.

Obviously house & techno is my passion, but that's not to say I think it's the best music, my iPod is the most random thing in the world.

That said, for me, only on e track this summer....

Try this one in the Gym Terry, it will give you the energy to chat the 80's plus up :emoticon-0110-tongu haha

I used to work a lot in Manchester in the early 90's and saw Oasis at the 'Gorse Inn' on Chester Road in 91/92, cracking night that was.

Cheers fella, I'll stick it on my ipod. You never know how good the track is til you've got it full blast in your ears whilst kicking seven shades of **** out of the pads, it's the music that can keep you going when your body is begging you to just ****ing go home that I need!

Seen Oasis a couple of times, went to see the Be Here Now tour in the Reebok a long time ago, maybe 97, and more recently at Heaton Park when they messed up and offered to refund everybody, I loved it so chose not to get my refund, even if they are City supporting monobrow scumbags!

Had a quick listen, reminded me of Bora Bora beach in Playa Den Bossa.

Caribou by the way in case you didn't know, is like some scandinavian/arctic moose, I had it in Canada, tastes amazing, similar to Venison!

I have recently re-discovered my love for dance music. I am currently producing my own album and have not touched a guitar for a long time. Having said that I got introduced to this band recently. I think their album will be No.1 at the weekend. Its a rip off a lot of American bands I have been listening to for a long time but at least someone has had the balls to sign a British band playing this sort of music.

    Vegas,

Suara recordings mate, every track all summer has been ****ing magic, last Sat I played 14 Suara released tracks in a set, unintentional, just when I flicked through the playlist on Rekordbox after.

Nailing every release, across the whole spectrum of house music.

I don't think I could ever get into dance music again, but I did love the house scene when I was into dance.

The Sankey's nights in Manchester were legendary, last few I went to were with the Tribal Sessions boys, Krysko, Redlight, Stacey Kidd, Greg Vickers. Loved that stuff.

Of course the time came for me to stop attempting to smooth-move and settle down with my Mrs, so me and Sankeys grew apart :(

Will defo check them out. House music does seem to be making a come back, thing is everyone is trying to do it and a lot of the commercial releases in my view are ****e. Examples latest track for instance, trying to jump on the bandwagon and its ****in terrible.

Forever getting voted the best club in the world mate, I don't see it. I've been to some clubs in Vegas and I really just don't see it.

Bouncers were always saying to people to run off 'or you're getting your heads kicked in' when they kicked lads out... ****ing fat chumps I've seen harder looking drag queens on Canal Street.

Non of the top lads in Manchester would work for that midget lumberjack looking **** that owns it.
