If the Gillingham match is anything to go by, and given more or less the entire first team has had to play just to scrape that result, I think we'll get beat. We continue to drift without style or substance and our headline-making toxic crowd is just around the corner.

I hope the fans get some perspective here. It's a new team which will take time to gel.
Look at Man Utd... Things ain't that bad.

Agtee ACS. We need someone to start putting the ball in the net though. Think we will beat Palace.

We really need 3 points in this one to avoid the pressure building up from all angles.

Personally, I think we can steal a narrow victory.

0-0 at 7-1 seems a good bet to me

I think we'll maybe squeeze a win 1-0 or 2-1. We won't click straight away but there is bound to be the odd game where we manage to scrape a result. We are going to have to show some patience as a support with this new team. It always was going to be like this when you have a mass squad overhaul, particularly in attacking areas. We've seen it before. We only need to look down the road at the problems they experienced when they added a mass of new players. It does beg the question why we didn't do it more gradually by using the last two windows of course, but that is gone. It also highlights that our transfer policy should be more flexible to include signings for the here and now, who know the league and hit the ground running. Foreign bargains can be a good thing but we need to mix this with domestic based talent.

CP players over-performing for a new manager to prove they should be first pick

our squad demoralised and lacking confidence due to being unable to score a goal so far this season

I'm thinking this is gonna be a Crystal Palace win.

Always the way, new manager just before us. The way I look at it though, this is an early season game we need to target because its winnable. It matters not if its pretty, all we need is 3 points.

See, I may well be wrong. Often am, in fact (I'm like the anti-Mr.Tiote). But I just feel that it all went against Pardew last season and still is going against him. He's escaping a lot of attention because van Gaal is the one under the spotlight, and it's a far bigger story than us just continuing on our mediocrity. I don't think you can suddenly just galvanise a dressing room and he certainly hasn't just suddenly won the fans around. It typically follows patterns, does football. Appoint a new manager, most of the time a win follows. When you're on the slide, it's typically impossible to win it round again. I think he's on a slope and will never be able to climb it again.

I see Leyton Orient beat the Villa at Villa Park... Still, that team thrashed us a few years back, so we must be improving as they only scuzzed a 1-0 <laugh>
