Bit early to judge him completely, he hasn't had long to look at all the players but has quickly identified the areas we need to improve which we have been shouting about for the last 12 months or so. Sure if he was handed £20m you would probably only see 3 or so players keep their places
Ronny has little say on players, most of our buys are guys who have the same Israeli agent this new striker included Still Ronny reminds me of Mowbray more and more each day
He can't be an idiot - even the utmost total idiot would have noticed 1st 45mins that both Berget & Johannson were absolutely dire. A total idiot would also have seen that Kayal was our best player 1st half??? IDIOT? No! Totally inept clown - perhaps! Ambrose at RB with our best 2 options there fully fit?? Absolute madness!! Furthermore, he moved Mcgregor from right to left 2nd half and didn't even for one moment think why he was less effective ( he was decent early 1st half) - answer, Berget who was also playing out of postion?? This man so far is making more mistakes than TM ever "dreamed of".
Worse than ****ing McCoist.... Just glad we get straight into the Europa Groups or he would end up being the first manager to lose 3 consecutive European knockout rounds in the same season. It really is an embarrassment when you cant beat teams like Maribor. I get that we have no right to beat these teams, but surely to **** we should be able to see a 1-1 away result through to the next round. The team is ****ed in the final third. Ambrose is clueless, McGregor cant stay upright and Izzy is turning into another Sammy. Great for a game then ****e for 6.
I didnt expect us to be in Europe with the squad we have, to some extent I dont think it matters who the manager is right now. What he is able to develop in the future on our relatively limited budget is what matters.
Agree Kayal was best player, perhaps because his distribution isn't as good he was sacrificed? I would have took Ambrose off and put Mulgrew at the back with Lustig rightback. Understand he wanted experience tonight because of what was at stake but surely firm should be a factor too?
I'm not so much annoyed at getting pumped out, we didn't deserve to be there, it's the dawning realisation that we are too late in making this team even half as good as last seasons
The subs were bizarre to say the least , why couldn't he do a straight swap sevco for lustig ?? Young Mcgregor was out on his feet long before the 2nd sub , our midfield is the weakest it's been in last 25 years with the worst ever captain .the better team won tonight even though it was a lucky goal .
I would lay more of the blame with lawell. we are regressing at a rate of knots. still the result could be a blessing as it means we wont get our arses handed to us on a plate in the CL this year. we are a pretty poor team, that is jam packed full of rubbish. I would honestly get rid of ambrose, commons, stokes, izzy, kayal, balde, pukki, chico, boerigter, mcgeouch bring in a couple of experience footballers, bring through some younger guys and give them a 10 - 15 game run in the team sadly we will se only vvd go
No manager in the world could legislate for the suicidal defending of Ambrose and Izzaguirre - what the **** was he thinking at their goal - but thats the calibre of player Deila has been left with. Some things I might agree shouldve been different tactically, but with bombscares like them in your team you`re ****ed.
there are some certainties in life death, taxes and rocket coming out of the woodwork when celtic get beat. I agree RL team is abysmal and anyone who thinks we can have a run in the Europa league is mental
Team that played in the UEFA Cup final 11 years ago: Douglas, Balde, Mjallby, Valgaeren (Laursen 64), Agathe, Lennon, Lambert (McNamara 76), Petrov (Maloney 104), Thompson, Sutton, Larsson. Team that played last night: Gordon; Lustig (Boerrigter, 72), Ambrose, Van Dijk, Izaguirre, McGregor, Mulgrew, Johansen, Kayal (Commons, h-t), Berget (Matthews, 66), Stokes. With the possible exception of Gordon at his peak there's not one player would get near that 2003 team. Deila is only partially responsible for what happened last night. The Board, and to a lesser extent Neil Lennon, are at fault for the poor quality of player we have now.
How the **** did he allow Berget to last 66 minutes!? The guy is ****ing bollocks. A right footed striker playing as a left-sided midfielder...utterly farcical. Kayal was doing fine, why hook him? Mulgrew is ****e too. We are so poor that it's probably a good thing we didn't get to the CL to watch ourselves get ghaped 5 nil in each game.
