they even managed to keep the clean sheet. if anybody wants to make sure they get a good nights sleep just wait for lvg post match interview. its sure to be a snoozefeast
Van Gaal says we need a win to boost confidence, what does he do he sends out a scratch side who get hammered and dents even more there confidence, if he wanted a win he should have put his strongest team out, he showed no respect for MK Dons.
The only thing I'm pissed off about is LVG playing De Gea, there's no need for him to be in this game if he's intent on playing the fringe/kids. The football is embarrassing but that team is basically a bunch of ****ing idiots, with a couple of exceptions. Welbeck proving again he's all talk.
Must admit I was thinking along the lines that they were only kids, until the commentator mentioned that over the game ManU had fielded 7 full internationals but the whole team had about 400+ games experience. They did need a rocket up their arses which would have undoubtedly been provided by Fergie.
You're right ADR. But this is a common mistake with new foreign managers. In nearly all non-British cups, you go through the motions till the semi-finals when you meet the other big boys. English and Scottish cups are entirely different. I remember in Mourinho's first year here, he fielded a weakened side against Scunthorpe in one of the cups. At half-time, he hurriedly changed it - Terry on, Lampard on, etc.! Frightened the life out of him. To his credit, Mourinho stood on the touch-line and shook hands with every Scunthorpe player as they came off. Van Gaal has learned the hard way like so many other foreign managers.
Fergie never really had much of a passion for that cup either, it has always been used to blood fringe/youth players for us. I can't get my head round why De Gea had to start the match, but I can see why the rest played. Michael Keane was humiliated and our most experienced CB on our books looked way out of his depth. Welbeck was a headless chicken again, nobody was making intelligent runs for Januzaj, it was all one dimensional. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather still be in the cup but if I had to choose between RVP/Rooney getting potentially injured playing MKD or our B team being humped by MKD I'd choose the 2nd option.
