Devizes Corn Exchange. There was a venue! Worth trailing across Salisbury Plain from Andover every Friday night. Best music = King Crimson Best entertainment = Curved Air (Sonja Kristina) Best guitar work = Tony McPhee of the Groundhogs Best fun= the mighty Hawkwind
I'm not a particularly huge fan of Bryan Adams (although he has done some good songs, not including a certain song from Robin Hood though!) I just love Summer of '69 What about best piano 'riffs'? I nominate Bruce Hornsby

Can't be bothered to look for it . But IMHO Dire Straights Romeo And Juliet has a lot going for it Guitar wise .
I got back a little while ago. Anything I say about the smallest part of the show would spoil it! Don't be tempted to read any reviews is my advice. Hope you enjoy as much as we did...
This is my favourite piano and trumpet riff.
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/girl-accidentally-kills-gun-instructor-uzi-051336902.html#TnyXJr8 A 9-yr-old girl accidently shoots her shooting instructor in the head with an uzi. What is up with these people? Not like using a rifle or pistol...it isn't an Olympic sport yet. She wasn't strong enough to hold it and the recoil pulled the gun over her head...she was on auto so could have killed a lot of people. How traumatised must she be. What will it be next...a four-year-old with a tank?
But having guns is ok... Or so we keep being told Why does a 9 year old girl need to experience shooting a gun? Has Barbie stopped in the US?
i read recently about a blind man in the US being given a licence to own and shoot guns, their obsession with carrying firearms seems so strange to most of us not used to seeing this on a daily basis.
An awful lot of Americans hate it as well, but the gun lobby is so powerful. It has an historical basis. We carried weapons in the 19th century, but gave them up as the police became more effective. It was explained to me in the civics class that it was an agreement between the people and government that if they protected us we would give up the right to carry weapons. Do they do civics classes anymore?...the lessons where you learnt what it meant to be British and our social responsibilities (I would guess not!). The police force in America cannot offer the same protection because of the size of the place. And Americans have an innate distrust of government because of their fight for independence. All in the past, but hard to put the genie back in the bottle.
