He did get a little upset at our "lack of respect" that day. I of course have been blown away by the mature, informed and respectful comments fans of his current club have made so far on the list. Along with a PFC fan's contribution which sort of sets the tone really.
I never really understood the fall-out from the Holloway post match interview, I went to the game and we were pretty good and gave Blackpool a lot of stick and all he did in his interview was engage in a bit of banter. Football fans can be so overly precious, I can remember when Rooney played for Everton and the Northam were giving him a lot of stick about being fat, he played a blinder that day and when he scored his second he stood behind the goal and struck a mocking muscle-man pose. The guy next to me actually wanted to kill him for his impudence, he was climbing over seats and foaming at the mouth!!
You must remember a different interview. He actually started ranting about us disrespecting them, as if he thought he was Vito Corleone or something.
Yes. he lost it really. I rather like Holloway on the whole, at least he's not boring, says what a lot of fans feel sometimes. I think at the time cracks were developing (or becoming obvious to him) in the Oyston approach to football club ownership. Plus he chose not to play his strongest team and lost. Guly scored so must've been a classic!
Gulys goal was a beauty if I remember rightly. As for tonight, strong side please, would like a decent run
#SaintsFC team vs @MillwallFC: Forster, Clyne, Fonte (c), Yoshida, Targett, Wanyama, S. Davis, Ward-Prowse, Isgrove, Long, Pellè. #SaintsFC substitutes vs @MillwallFC: K. Davis (GK), Gardos, RamÃrez, Tadić, Taïder, Cork, Stephens. Edit: A little bit of opposition interest as Chaplow starts for Milwall.
Hope he get's a good reception from the Saints fans. And yes, nice to see a decent team out esp' for those who made the trip.
Search #Millwall on twitter. Their fans are pretty convinced they're getting "obliterated" tonight. 8/11 is fantastic value...
Good strong team. Presumably Barnard and Morgan must be not quite fit as they are not on the bench. Good to see Gaston bank.
