Should we make every effort now to sign Vergini on a 4 year contract, this lad is getting better all the time, he could be the next Julio.
I think we would have signed him but for the joint third party ownership The loan deal bought us some time I'm not convinced about him - too many mistakes last season, but he was very good on Sunday
It's complicated, hence the loan. There is a 3rd party ownership issue with him that the club is working on, he is as good as permanently signed, the club will iron out the issues over the course of the loan.
Didn`t we try to sign him but couldn`t because of a co-ownership thingy and got him back on loan instead?
Would like to get him signed up but will SAFC give this agent a big wedge? I was under the impression after the Tevez affair that 3rd party ownership was banned.
I love Vergini, had his back when folk initially said he wasn't good enough. Wonderful footballer, however, he's nowt like Julio and he ain't no right back.
we need to get his ownership sorted out and get him signed. it would have been done this year if it wasnt for the third party ownership. it took him a few games to get up to speed but he has looked outstanding since and we should be doing everything we can to get him on a permanant basis. he has an excellent touch and is not scared to get forward, plus he's still young
So far as I understand it, there is no third party ownership involved with Vergini. I believe his contract is entirely owned by the owner of Atletico Fenix. I don't know this mind, but I suspect the issue is friction within SAFC which might well be resolved a year from now.
So what I've heard is that Wickham hasn't been offered a contract. A provisional one was put forward but not a formal one. Apparently Wickham feels he has been treated like **** by the club. The last straw was Gus telling him to sign up when no contract had been offered. Wickham WILL NOT sign for us. Apparently he has had talks with West Ham, QPR and Palace (before Phyllis left) West ham had offered 5 million up front with 3 million in add ons. SAFC accepted this. This deal however was quashed by Ellis Short who rates Wickham at 12 million. Apparently Ellis rates WIckham for keeping us up. So apparently Wickham is going nowhere but will not sign a deal. When his contract winds down he will sign for Valencia as the compensation would only be £250,000, as they are a foreign club, they will then loan him to West Ham. Apparently Newcastle had been interested but he wouldn't sign former them (Colback is his best mate apparently) This was told to me by a mate who knows Wickham's dad. So my not be gospel and may be bravado or maybe bullshit but I thought I would pass it on for what it's worth.
I certainly hope so, as I think he could be a real asset, and I don't want a repeat of the Alonso, et. al. situation where we find a good player then lose him through naivety by the clubs so called legal experts who have been anything but in recent years.
if its owned by the owner of the club then it is a third party ownership as its not owned by the club. dont get all this south american third party ownership ****, how can he not be owned by the club we loaned him from
