That's why this country is far from great Este, the way it treats its people who have paid their dues all their lives, but come here in the back of a lorry with nothing but a sob story and you're treated like a king, makes me ****ing sick.

And with the UK's open door policy the Ebola virus could already be here living in thousands of council houses up and down the country

Agree with that,as you know I don't live in the UK anymore,
But here in spain its not that differenct, some friends were refused to get their youngest into the same school as their eldest, because there was not enough space, only to find out they reserve 2 spaces for moroccon imigrants,
My mate sorted it but is a fecking joke.

Talking of the country being a bit of a mess and leading on to another off topic subject... I watched 30 minutes of the Scottish debate last night, Darling v Salmond. If I were Scottish I don't know which way I would vote however I do know I wouldn't want Salmond in charge in any form or manner. Surely hearing him alone is enough for Scottish people to vote no?

Speaking from personal experience, I know for a fact that customs allow all sorts to be taken through into this country, bush meat (the virus is spread via fruit bats) and live animals....from West Africa. The people manning customs do not want to investigate bags containing these sorts of things, whereas they are more than happy to confiscate cured hams etc from visitors from the USA.

The sad truth is that we do not know, who and how many we are allowing into this country and what they are bringing with them....

it is a disgrace of monumental proportions.

We should be more like Australia, who have a zero tolerance policy to the importation of products that can cause harm to flora and fauna...let alone the human population

To be fair to the Ebola virus it's being persecuted in its homeland so is seeking asylum in Britain.

There is no risk with this at all.

Peeps need to stop watching Dustin Hoffman films and reading scaremongering in the papers.

Strangely enough I was having a meal with a mate of mine last night. She was telling me that William Pooley worked with her on the ward (F2) at Southampton General Hospital, which is where he was training to become a nurse.

Once qualified, he wanted to make a difference, and made the hard decision to travel abroad.

Ristac, it's a referendum, not a Presidential election! If a YES vote is returned, then an election will follow, which I anticipate Labour will win with a landslide victory. That's why Labour are staunchly supporting the NO vote - they'll never get into power in the rUK without the Scottish Labour vote. Indeed, there will be years of Coalition in the rUK . Again, if a YES vote is returned, the SNP will have served its purpose & will not attract votes.

Hmmm he's apparently said he's going back when he's well.

Not sure if you can contract Ebola again but if he did I wouldn't support flying him back for a second time. Sorry if that sounds harsh.

Obviously not, that is why this health worker managed to catch it despite taking precautions.
