The other point for consideration is the likes of City and Chelski often buy up younger British players in the hope they will develop. That hardly ever happens, and the youngsters hardly get a game, lose confidence, and eventually get sold on to a so called "lesser" club. The list is endless, but just a few examples are Wright Philips, Milner, Rodwell, etc etc. All of these were certs for all the other teams, but all became bench warmers.

Hardly the way to develop future England players. No wonder we ended up looking pathetic in the world cup

That wasn't a swipe Indestructable. The lad took his chance well. But how many games did he get at City? very little. Maybe he would have developed better had he stayed at Everton. No wonder Everton stuck a 50mill price tag on Ross Barkley when City made an offer

The amount of money for this player is a sad indictment of the state of our game.

Its financially rigged to maintain the Status Quo.. If you havent got 500Mil to a billion quid to spunk on players (in a short space of time)..you aren't going to compete..simple as

from Sky obsessing about transfer fees (and totals spent as if that was a good thing rather than a shaming indictment of the sport) and TV contract costs (Sky will run hours of 'Infotainment news' on this Di Maria bid and rush to the total transfer spend as if that was directly proportional to their dick size..rather than being ashamed of how they have actively destroyed the Footballing culture)

The only league I can see that is doing it 'right-ish' is the Bundeslegia

All the money is now concentrated in a small handful of teams...its like the bullshit trickle down economics theory..the rest of the entire UK football culture is being sucked dry and slowly killed to maintain the few teams that have bought their places at the table..(with seriously dodgy money too, but who cares ..REPEAT EPL best league in the world often enough it MUST be true ..as done by the Sky propaganda ministry)

Personally I would love for the Champion League 'regulars' to break away ( which is what they want, they can play each other in the 'super duper aren't we just fabulous euro league' with no promotions or relegations (too financially risky) and in front of half filled stadiums doing exhibition matches basically) and leave the rest of us european teams to compete with each other on a more level playing field.

I think this is a very worthy piece of business for Man U despite the high figures, but the coach has to get him into a position that he will thrive in, I don't believe there is one in a 3-5-2 for him.

Also, what's with all the diving accusations on Di Maria? I have watched lots of him, and he is not a diver at all.

His best qualities are his stamina(can run for 120minutes or more), and his dribbling with pace, and his quality of delivery as a winger. This is a signing that I never wanted Man U to make, because he is way better than Mata, or any other player in the Manure midfield. He was Real Madrid's best player last season, and is pretty much the finished article. He was the chief provider for the goals C. Ronaldo and co. were scoring last season.

Only time will tell whether Manure can play him to his strengths, and if they do, they will become a force again.
