Can looked strong and powerful in pre-season. Not going to judge him on 20 minute appearance in that game.
Nah just natural reactions after a loss. Heat of the moment, people get frustrated etc. Give it a day or two, people will come around, realise it was a tough game and probably came too early what with the new signings needing to bed in etc.
We were slow out the blocks last year and didn't look particularly creative. I remember us winning 1-0 at villa early on and scoring with probably our only shot on target. If we play like it against spurs it might be more worrying but city second game away was always going to be a tough task. We lost there last year when we were in excellent form.

Why is the defence so poor? We all thought Lovren was going to be some messiah for us LFC fans, especially comparing him to Jamie Carragher.
1st goal was a mistake. could have been anyone. 2nd one, not great having Coutinho drop into LB then Lovren step up and Johnson/Skrtel stay back (could be Lovren's fault for not staying back, or the other 2 for not following Lovren and catching them offside). 3rd was poor positioning from all defenders but also from the midfield allowing the City winger to get the ball, turn under no pressure and pick his past.
Very worrying. The defence is no better than last year. If we were serious about progressing, then we should have bought one or two world class defenders.
Is it Gerrard or Can you referring to. Of what i've seen Can looks a much stronger and quicker player than Gerrard. The latter's passing is as good at it gets, but he doesn't offer much off the ball, He's more or less a weak link now. Either BR start trusting Can or should plunge in for another DM. We can't afford to go another full season with Gerrard as a DM.
But the Liverpool defence is probably the most expensive in the PL. Maybe the training is to focused on set pieces or attacking and possession based football.
Hate people talking about us buying "world class players". Why would they chose us? 1 year in the CL out of the last 5? if WC players are available, big teams go for them and can offer them more money and more chance of silverware/regular CL football. We can't attract WC players yet, we have to go for the player below that bracket or younger players in the hope they develop.
a little bit premature,...with the number of new players coming in, no-one would expect them to gel straight away,...no matter how "world class" they are..
