What the first two games has shown is we lack someone who can get in behind as well as someone who can control the middle.
We don't need him to be honest - he'd simply be a luxury. A luxury that I wouldn't pay more than £35mil for. On that note - you don't particualry need him either, when it's clear as daylight where you need to strengthen.
He seems to skinny and light weight to be suited to the Premier League in my opinion. That explains maybe why he only scored 5 league goals and prefers passing to others (high assist amount) Look at his body frame compared to Ronaldo or Bale. Di Maria needs to put some weight on, hopefully he will learn that from Rooney and Shaw.
Not me or many here are saying that the price is not f**ing markedly over the top. I said earlier in one of my posts that if it were any other club except for United it would have been £45-50m. He's as lightweight as a feather - the PL physicality will be a shock for him. In La Liga you get so much time on the ball to look up take a step and make a pass. In the PL you get about half a second before you get clattered.

Yeh cb, lb, cm and a winger. So with a week to go and more signings to come which of the above essential purchases have we yet to make? Were clearly addressing our issues. Still more to do of course but so far a world class winger, a highly rated modfielder and 2 highly rated defenders is a step in the right direction. Add one or two of blind, vidal, de jong or benatia and thinks suddenly look very good.
