Pardew should show us all how deep our squad is and lose

Hope to get to this one.

In all honesty I didn't even know about game til Thursday just gone.

My nephew plays for Gills under 11's so I am gonna take him if I can get someone to cover my shift at work.

Hopefully we'll at least attempt cup runs this year

It would be really good to have a good cup run this year. There can be no excuses for not trying as our overall squad is stronger now.

I think Riviere, Cabella, De Jong, Perez and Ferreyra will all get game time. I think if there is any possibility of any of them getting goals and getting off the mark that will be seen as a bigger benefit than rest.

Campbell can't play, he's at Fleetwood on loan.
P45due says Gillingham is a difficult place to go ( despite them getting beat 4-1 on Saturday.) If we cannot beat them with whatever squad players he uses then he really should depart our shores and never to return.

I don't think Cabella will at a League One ground. SDJ will for match fitness, Ayoze will start because he'll be more used to cloggers from La Liga 2. Something like a 4-4-1-1, because I think Pardew will already be panicking about the fact he has no clue how to get this 4-2-3-1 to work.

    Eliot

    MYM, Saylor, Colo, Haidara

    Sissoko, Anita, Colback, Aarons

    SDJ

    Ayoze.

Ferreyra to make an appearance if it's not too desperate.

Even if Pards plays some of the fringe players, I hope he still puts out a strong side with the aim of progressing. The last couple of seasons have been embarrassing. I'd like to see DeJong, Ayoze, Aarons and Ferreyra all get a go.

Also be good to see Abeid get a run out. Haidara to start too.

Yeah, Haidara deserves a start. Think he'll be better than Dummett.

I believe he already is. Not sure why Pards persists with Paul, must be something to do with the number of foreign players in the team.

Got the night off, I'll be there.
If De Jong plays he'll be going from AJax to the Medway towns!!

I will be going to the game tomorrow. Due to the Gills current start to the season and watching us scrap for our League One survival last season, albeit it missing just a handful of games home and away, I am not confident of our chances. Yeah Gills of old would have taken you to the wire, Priestfield is not an easy ground to come too. IF we have a full house, the crowd will be close to the pitch breathing down your necks as 12th man but sadly Peter Taylor's methods are negative and his boring style will probably kill any passion of old that any visiting team would have feared in the past. Whether you put out your first team, youth team, under 11's, or Ladies team, if you don't smash us 0-5, then you really must be splashing millions down the pan as a club. You can paint it up with excuses in any way you like, such as that your not interested in this cup but financially our two teams are light years apart at every level.

But having said all that, Priestfield is our Fortress :)

I can see us losing this. Gillingham will be up for it big time and with a full house it will be a hard place to go.
My issue is with Pardew. I honestly don't think he will set the team up to attack. He will play on the counter and hope to rely on pace. So hope I'm wrong.

A sign that I spent far too much time on not606 this weekend is that I genuinely dreamed last night that we DID lose this game <doh>

Ben Arfa played really well apparently in the developmental game against Reading. Scored a great and set up one for Sammy. I would love to see him brought back into the team. We are crying out for an attacking threat and he looks trim enough to me. It was a reserve game granted but it all seems such a waste of talent.

His talent is undeniable, but I feel he shouldn't be brought back unless it's best for the team as a whole. a 4-3-3 with him and Cabella either side of a striker would, in my opinion, be pretty unstoppable though.
