Tigers target Dutch hitman after move collapse Hull City have joined Swansea City in the race to sign FC Twente striker Luc Castaignos for a fee of £6.5million. Tigers boss Steve Bruce is keen to get another striker in before the end of the month but has so far been frustrated in his attempts to sign Blackburn Rovers goal-poacher Jordan Rhodes. Reports in Holland claim he has turned his attention to Dutchman Castaignos, 21, who was the subject of a bid from Swansea earlier this summer. The Swans agreed a £6.5million fee with Twente back in June but the deal hit a snag and Castaignos did not travel to Wales to complete the deal. Castaignos played 48 minutes of Twente's 1-1 draw with NAC on Sunday, scoring his side's goal before coming off with a hamstring strain. However, the former Inter Milan striker hopes to be involved in Twente's Europa League clash with Qarabag on Thursday and is not thinking about a transfer. "I'm only thinking about FC Twente and our European game next Thursday against Qarabag," he said. http://www.sportinastorm.com/Premie...tch-hitman-after-move-collapse/X1Y37Z1795576?
kinell. I was on about us signing him last season. Think bummers knows a bit about him. Does that Dutch lad Cove still post he used to give good run downs on the Dutch league
He seemed to have a lot of promise and his move to Inter didn't really work out for him. Am I right in thinking he has problems with his attitude, or have I made that up? Anyone know how he did at Twente last year?
If BCC does have a view on him it'll be that he's ****. I swear he says that about everyone he's seen play for Inter.
I cant see this been like the 'harry maguire' thing, so that blackburn give in to us for two reason 1.jordan rhodes has a 5 year contract running and isnt a three agent at the end of the season 2.blackburn really need rhodes for a chance of going up!
Context of is Inter period: http://thecovereport.sportsblog.com/post/137698/the_rich_kids.html Last year Castaignos had a fairly decent season, for he first time in 3 seasons. He went for the money and that has set him back in his development to the point where he will never be as good as he once was. The symptons for this are clear: poor finising, inconsistent, technically not up to Eredivisie standards i.e. poor passing and movement. He needs 10 chances to score 1 goal, definetely not suitable for the EPL. Sure he has his moments, and you can probably great showreels of him on Youtube, but he is a sloppy ineffective striker who makes a decent striker for any Eredivisie side. If he were to go abroad again he will probably regress and waste the progress in development he has made in the past two years.
