Theres a lot of unnecessary panic around here these days. Much of it unwarranted and exaggerated. Yes weve started poorly but we've been hit by an injury crisis at the worst possible time. There is a ray of hope though. The players we have too come into the side are a massive upgrade on what we have seen so far. They will improve us to no end. On top of that we have three new players coming in. They will freshen up the side and add some bite. To calm your fears have a think back a few seasons when we had come off the back of 2 poor season's, looked miles behind chelsea and picked up just 2 points from our first 3 games. We went on to dominate english football for some time after.
All very true UIR. The premier league is a marathon, not a sprint. Ask Kevin Keegan who had a 15 point lead in January
Fergie was Utd manager at that time, LVG is a premier league novice trying to implement a different formation amongst players that were schooled on Fergie's system, formation and tactics. #pressthepanicbutton
UTD'S next 5 or 6 games are bankers - then the 'Boom Bust Cycle' will set in I know UIR is familiar with this cycle as it back fired on him last season quite spectacularly
I agree, but the pedant in me means I must point out that we started the 2006-7 season (after Chelsea's 2 title wins) in great form We beat Fulham 5-0 or 5-1 and didn't drop amy points till about 5 games in (home defeat to Arsenal if my memory serves correctly. The pessimism then was almost as bad as it now though. We'd just replaced Van Nistelrooy and Keane with Carrick and Chelsea had just bought Ballack and Shevchenko.
Didn't kick in at all - we fought till the end. Last season was a massive success, even though no silverware was won
07/08 - drew 2 out of our first 3 games against lesser opposition and got beat by a rubbish City team in the 3rd
We have been a one-man team for 20 years, perhaps this year we could be Di Maria United Last year was Cleverley`s turn
From 7th to 2nd in one season is a massive success - one you certainly won't be acheiving this season
