It's not the losing I can put up with that, it's the performance that hurts. There are times when I wished I hated itfc but it's in the blood I'm afraid So come next game I will be sweating and hoping on the result. Why do we put ourselves through this week in and week out It's certainly no fun being a town fan
That its not Yorkie, funny thing is, we always live in hope, even though i knew it was gonna be another dull season, i had this voice in my head saying 'maybe we will do ok, hell we know the division better than anyone else' what an idiot that voice is!! Look on the bright side, we still may have something to play for at the end of the season.........................SURVIVAL!!!

Hi all, I'm new here but a life long Town fan. The way I see it is... Without MM we would almost certainly be playing League 1 football right now. What he's done is stabilise us from the mess the previous 2 managers left us in. Also he's doing it with practically no funding. Whether he's the man to take us to the next level or not is kind of irrelevant at the mo as there's no money to spend. As some others have pointed out, skill and pace costs and that's what's lacking in our side. What we have is 6ft plus workhorses that will give everything but lack finesse (except McGoldrick). Mick gets the best from what he has to work with IMO. RK and PJ wasted a lot of money and we're still reaping that.
A season in the third tier would do wonders for you. An opportunity to have a complete clear out from the very top to the very bottom. Re-group and start afresh with a young up and coming ambitious manager. You never know you might actually enjoy it, we had a blast ;-)
You'd do it and visiting all those different grounds with real football fans it's a throwback to yesteryear.(town fans love their history!) We could even lend you our open top bus when you win promotion
I went yesterday & to be honest, it reminded me of the John Duncan days (i'm showing my age). keeper / defender hoofing it up the field & hoping to win some flick ons. There are so many problems with the team because it is so unbalanced. With the players we've got at our disposal, surely it is worth trying 3 at the back (Berra, Smith & Chambers) & playing Hewitt & Parr as wing backs (Mings is not yet good enough at this level). If you are going to play 4-4-2 & play with 2 defensive midfielders, you are not going to create many chances. My biggest fear is that Didsy my decide enough is enough (he was dropping deeper & deeper to get the ball yesterday) & might request a transfer before the end of the window. if he does go, I feel the natives may become very restless
Welcome to 606 Castro Sito So my thoughts on Mick.... He serves up a boring brand of percentage football. Is he playing that way because of the personnel at his disposal or is it just his way? I would have to say that it was his style. He has other options but always takes the safe approach instead of taking a risk by starting somebody like Henshall who can actually carry the ball forwards. Can he take us into the top six? On recent showings...no. He persists with four CB's in defence and all too similar players in midfield. We have had players in the squad that were different but he either ships them out or drills all of the attacking intent out of them. Some say that we would struggle with this team without Mick as manager. I disagree. I think that a new man could come in and use what is already here in a different way. Some of the players need their shackles removed and to be told to attack first and defend second. Hopes for the next match.... Gerken gets dropped Skuse gets dropped Henshall gets a start
TBH I was expecting a bigger defeat, to get away with a 1-0 loss is not a bad result! MM is fast turning the fans against himself with his dire tactics & above all stubbornness to look at other options within his squad. I understand the fact that he has not been given any funds to strengthen, wether I think that is right or wrong is irrelevant, what I take issue with is how he uses his squad or not as the case maybe. I will start at the back and work my way forward; Deano is not good enough IMO he was at fault for the goal yesterday, to often he is hesitant and gets caught flat footed, problem is none of us know if Bart is any better. The defence...why oh why does he continue to play 4 CBs is beyond me, before anyone starts Mings came to us as a CB, not a LB, Chambers is a CB but still players at RB, with the CBS at our disposal it is crying out to play 3 at the back, that would then help our weak midfield. We must have just about the worst CM pairing in the division, Hyam is still relatively young so I am not pointing the finger of blame at him that much, Skuse though has gone backwards this season, costing us goals and creates zip going forward. If we played 3 at the back, then had say Parr and Ando as wing back we could have Skuse and or Hyam protecting the back 3 and Didsy to play in the hole behind Murphy or Marriott, yes Jack Marriottt stick him in not send him out on loan, he will learn quicker at this level than out on loan month after month. As for the Nouble debacle why did it take MM so long to realise he is not good enough is a mystery, I guess every manager has his favourites and all that! There are a lot of things going on ATM that make no sense to me, why have we got the likes of Ambrose, Collison and Garvan training with us, get them fit so somebody else can sign them....errrrr! Give them a week to week or six month contract, get them playing for us, least it gives us options in the middle, as at the moment Hyam and Skuse are auto picks as they have no real competition for their places. As I said from the start if MM has no money then fair enough but if that is the case he needs to start thinking about using his squad better than he is at the moment...still standing by MM....BUT ONLY JUST!
Well, hearty welcome Sito! The one thing you cab certain of is that us 606 ers know much more snout the game than the so-called experts! Or at least we think we do! Yhere is much banter, good humour, the odd expletive (like after that game), and a wealth of goodmold fashioned amateur sporting experience. The likes of Yorkie, Warky and me drive hundreds of miles each year - me sadly less so these days - and yes, at times I am astonished I keep on the A12 one gets so disilllusioned....or even fall asleep on the M25...not a nice stretch of tarmac at night mid-winter..after being thumped at PR! But somehow we always live in hope, and once in a while, we actually enjoy the match, marvel at the skills on display...the team-work, hard to beat mantra...the rare spark of genuine creativity. But in truth we aint seen much of that lately! And yet....yet, we will always love our club, the great camaraderie, with its amazing history, its sporting legends; and no, we probably will never see those heady days again as the landscape has changed for good. But we all know that ITFC made a huge impact on the game and perhaps its that which causes such sadness and even despair at times. As for MM & ME....while I think it highly unlikely and unwise to call for heads at this stage, I am prepared reluctantly to give them a few weeks more, and hopefully the new faces will get a chance to shine and give us something to cheer. Don't relish going to Derby next either..!
SCOG, LMAO!! Reading your first paragraph i thought you were pissed but you picked it up later in your post!!
I could not disagree more! We are struggling already financially and dropping down a division would be a disaster as far as I'm concerned.
